Jockey HS GILL has stolen the Malaysian jockeys title on the final day of the season, when he edged out JACKSON LOW to clinch his second title in a classic nail-biting finish that came down to the final race of the day.
GILL (29 wins) started the weekend of racing trailing JACKSON LOW (30 wins) by just one victory. The two riders exchanged blows winning six of the 15 Penang races with GILL landing 4 wins to LOW’S 2 wins, enough to hand him victory by one win.
Meanwhile, trainer RICHARD LINES recorded his 11th consecutive trainers premiership with another demolition job, winning by a sizeable margin.
