New Zealand bred performer GOLD SKY BILLION returns to the track after a two-month hiatus and appears well placed for a first-up victory in the 1300m Banded 51-74 contest at Penang on Saturday.
GOLD SKY BILLION has not raced since finishing second behind smart type Chinese Tea against a strong Class 3 lineup over 1100m in KL. The five-year-old closed off well from a midfield position in the run and was safely held in finishing five lengths from the winner.
GOLD SKY BILLION is yet to miss a place in four first-up performances and looked well primed following a trial win here a fortnight ago. The gelding is a reliable beginner who normally races on pace and he should prove hard to beat for jockey Jackson Low.
