South Africa Racing – Aldo is On The Road Again

Supporters of jockey Aldo Domeyer had a dreadful day of things last Friday but they are likely to be getting most of that back this Friday at Fairview.

Domeyer has a full card of eight rides but it is the four with trainer Candice Bass-Robinson on which we will concentrate.

All four of them are likely to start favourites so we will be needing at least three of them to get home in front of their rivals.

Matsuyamo should get is off to a good start in Race 1, a Maiden Juvenile Plate over 1600m.

This Royal Mo gelding has improved with each run and the step-up to 1600m should suit as he was seen to making late progress in his latest start over 1400m at Kenilworth.

Echo Of Life in Race 2, a Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1200m, has finished runner-up in her last two starts and deserves a taste of victory.

The Master Of My Fate filly drops in distance and was only doing her best work late last time out but an aggressive ride could see her to better effect.

Charlie Crocker in Race 3, a Maiden Plate over 1200m, has been holding his form well and arguably is coming into this race after his best performance yet.

It is a weak race and he should be hard to beat.

If he has not had a winner or two by the last race, we may have to go maximum stakes on On The Road Again in Race 8, a MR 72 Handicap over 1000m.

The three-year-old gelding has dropped to a mark off which he clearly is capable of winning again and only found one better last time out.
