Some of Malaysia’s higher rated performers will be returning from short breaks when they line up in the main events, the 1600m Cameron Highland Stakes and the 1200m Malaysia National Day Trophy as part of the marathon 12 race card at SLTC on Sunday.
LONELY BOY is racing in career best form as he aims for four victories on the bounce in the mile feature. With seven wins this year already, the six year old is racing at the peak of his powers but will face a bigger challenge as he is yet to score over the mile. With his devastating turn of foot, he can change that statistic with Y Aify astride.
EYE GUY will be freshened and has maintained fitness with an eye catching five length trial win here Tuesday week ago. The eight year old posted successive wins at this distance range earlier this year and has previously placed first up from a short break.
ARC TRIUMPH wasn’t suited after leading last start and should bounce back to his best form against this company. ROBBERY SON has been sparingly raced this year but did record a huge win when lowering the colours of smart performer, Shanghai Nights back in May.
The Malaysia National Day Trophy has attracted some handy types also and the talented mare XENA is coming off an impressive trial win Tuesday week ago. The six year old hasn’t raced since her fast finishing 2nd in the Group One Tunku Gold Cup back in April and she looks to be heading for another lucrative campaign.
Talented sprinter, VIOLET is also resuming from a two month break and does boast an excellent first up record. The seven year old with 12 wins overall, placed 3rd in the cup has only started three times this year and has not been sighted at the trials. However, he still has the class to win.
GINGERELLA is the highest rated mare on points in the country and also races best when coming off a break. The eight year old trialled well behind XENA recently and is one for the trifectas. MOONGATE LIGHT has attracted market support against this grade in previous outings and receives the apprentice claim.
