A couple of Class 4 events to round off the seven race Saturday program at Perak Turf Club should provide the safest play for punters on what looks to be a challenging card overall.
The Buffalo Stable and Selangor trainer, S Siva have become a formidable combination this season with a handy strike rate and are well represented in the 1400m King’s Seal Handicap (Race 6) with PERFECT. The seven year old has impressed in his two local starts so far providing a perfect start to his Malaysian campaign when successful in KL over 1275m on Track Two on September 25. However, PERFECT received no luck when trapped deep throughout from a wide draw but still had the audacity to close off when finishing a half length 2nd over the 1400m journey on October 15. Rueven Ravindra is one of the inform jockeys at the moment with multiple winners in the past month and retains the mount on the gelding. If a wet track prevails then DISCRETELY RED is the horse to watch as he comes off the seven day back up from his placing last Sunday. The nine year old goes up 4 kg from that run but has a good record with five wins over the 1400m trip. GALILEO’S APPROACH has not won for two years but trialled well recently and has descended to a winnable rating while MAIDANZ BEAUTY for Team Leck steps up in grade from her last start win and is a proven Class 4 performer.
The other division of the Class 4 (Race 7) over 1200m contains another galloper in peak form as SUPER SIXTYONE attempts to add another win to an already impressive local record. SUPER SIXTYONE has a record of 3 wins from 3 starts at the track and distance while jockey AM Aizat possesses a 100% strike rate from three mounts aboard the seven year old. PERFECT MISSION is a handy sit sprinter which has been competitive without winning at Class 4 level while CLARTON TREASURE had no luck when caught wide throughout when finishing 3rd in KL last month. HARVEYWALLBANGER has descended in the ratings and is one to put in for the exotics.
