Apprentice jockey, Clyde Leck is experiencing his personal best season and currently leads the overall jockeys premiership with 56 winners, striking at 22%. The 2kg claimer has not only established a formidable combination with his father and trainer, Charles Leck but his association with New Zealand native Simon Dunderdale provides an astonishing statistic. Clyde has ridden 10 winners from 25 mounts for the Dunderdale stable striking at an incredible 40% and the association continues in four races on Sunday.
One of those is PASIR PINJI which is a genuine chance of posting the hat trick in the 1500m Class 4 event (Race 4). The six year old is unbeaten in two local starts and should prove hard to beat despite the rise in grade.
Leck and Dunderdale also combine with SUSPICIOUS MIND, a former New Zealand galloper who was specked in the market at its local debut on October 16 when finishing 2nd over 1200m.The five year old looks a chance of breaking through in the 1100m Open Maiden (Race 9).
BERRY BLISS can bounce back in the 1400m Class 3 contest (Race 6) for Team Leck after suffering a defeat in Penang last start. With an impressive record of 5 wins from 9 starts, the four year old returns to home territory in search of another Class 3 victory.
ALLIANCE CAPTAIN with similar statistics of 5 wins from 8 starts will step up to the 1400m trip for the first time and produced an eye catching effort here when finishing runner up over 1250m a month ago.
Another horse to watch in this race is BRUCE ALNAUGHTY, which has won 3 from 6 locally and will strip fitter second up from a spell. The five year old has the excellent record of two from two second up and has been transferred back to original trainer, Marcus Teh.
Last start winner, SAN ANDREAS did not disgrace at his only appearance in Class 3 grade two starts back and has maintained form with a solid 35.2s (600m) workout on Tuesday morning.
