I AM ME TO LAND A DOUBLE
Smart four-year-old mare I AM ME can continue her winning ways when she contests the $150,000 Benchmark 88 Handicap over 1100m from Rosehill racecourse on Saturday.
I AM ME has won four of her nine career starts for the stables of Ciaron Maher & David Eustace and was last seen scoring first-up at this track and distance off a four-month break. Camping just off the speed, she let down powerfully over concluding stages to score effortlessly by close to two lengths in a race similar to this week’s.
With seemingly plenty of more wins to come, the up-and-comer, who has strung wins together in the past, has what it takes to rise to the occasion on Saturday.
BACK PIKE AT ASCOT
Four-year-old mare CATEGORY THREE can score a second career win when she steps out in the $60,000 Special Conditions Handicap over 1400m from Ascot racecourse on Saturday.
CATEGORY THREE has done little wrong in her short five-start career to date, winning once and placing second three times. The Adam Durrant-trained bay is third-up into her current preparation off the back of two runs into runner-up and was last seen turning in a slashing run from the rear, missing by 0.25 lengths on the wire.
She looks ready for the rise in distance this week and meets a moderate field where she looks hard to hold out under top jockey William Pike.
TWO WINS ON END FOR KEAL
Talented three-year-old END ASSEMBLY can go back-to-back this Saturday when he contests the $21,500 BM62 race over 1100m at Toowoomba racecourse, Australia.
END ASSEMBLY was heavily backed and duly saluted on debut mid-last month. The son of Outreach simply made it a one-act affair that day when bouncing straight to the lead and making every post the winning post, cruising to the line by an astonishing margin of 7.3 lengths over this track and distance.
Based on the strength of his impressive debut win, END ASSEMBLY can prove hard to beat with jockey Nick Keal remaining in the saddle despite the rise in class this week.
