A GOLDEN AUTUMN AHEAD
Quality colt GOLDEN MILE can prove hard to beat first-up when he resumes in the $250,000 Group 2 Expressway Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill, Australia, on Saturday.
The three-year-old James Cumming-trained talent last raced in October last year, winning the $1mil G2 Callendar-Presnell Stakes over 1600m which was fourth career win from a total of six starts. A run prior to that, GOLDEN MILE claimed the $3mil G1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m).
Though it’s still too early to make comparisons, GOLDEN MILE is on the same pathway that stable mate and super star ANAMOE made last year as he launches his 2023 in Saturday’s Expressway Stakes, and there is an understandable excitement about the colt’s potential this autumn.
CASINO ROYALE FOR PIKE
Promising five-year-old CASINO SEVENTEEN can score an overdue win this Saturday when he contests the $80,000 BM72+ race over 1800m at Ascot racecourse, Australia.
CASINO SEVENTEEN has been racing in consistent form recently, finishing in the money four times from his last five starts. The son of Casino Prince was not suited by a slow tempo last start, but still caught the eye with a fast finishing second over a mile, missing only a short head on the line.
Getting the services of champion jockey William Pike looks a big plus for CASINO SEVENTEEN this week and in a field injected with plenty of speed, his consistency will get rewarded.
