The lower tier of Class 5 gallopers will be well catered for, filling five of the seven races on what appears to be a challenging program for punters on Saturday’s program. The highest graded event is the 1400m Class 4 contest (Race 3) and it alone contains several winning chances with the barriers playing a big part in the maximum fourteen horse lineup.
RS DIAGO (4) gets his chance to win following some encouraging performances including a last start placing over the mile behind AIR BOSS (2), which draws wide in this race on Saturday. RS DIAGO (4) has drawn more favorably this time and is suited the drop in distance. MR G (1) and BUDDY SIXTY-ONE (3) finished 4th and 5th respectively in a 1400m contest at KL a month ago and both runners will be major players. MR G hasn’t won for over a year but is a reliable beginner from the good draw while BUDDY SIXTY-ONE (3) has won 2 from 5 locally and is a handy sit sprinter who may require luck from the deeper barrier. QASAR (8) has won twice at this grade during its current campaign while D’GREAT DUCHESS (5) is racing well with 3 wins from her past 5 starts. PERFECT MISSION (11) is another horse who appreciates a fast speed and is well placed at the weights.
Race 3 Selections: 4 – 1 – 3 – 8
PIT BULL (3) looks a chance of posting successive victories in the 1100m Class 5 event (Race 7). Considering the gelding finished unplaced in his first nine starts, PIT BULL (3) has improved rapidly since joining the Ananthen stables recently and finally broke through in a 1200m Class 5 contest here on January 14. VK BOY (4) is another improver which broke its maiden tag at Ipoh two starts back before an eye catching 2nd at the same track on January 28. D’GREAT EFFORT (1) is a former Class 3 galloper which has descended to a career low of 33 points and on best form, would be hard to beat dropping back to the B division of this class 5 contest. LUCKY THIRTYNINE (6) can be hard to follow at times but the stable is starting to produce some winners lately.
Race 7 Selections: 3 – 4 – 1 – 6
