The 1400m Metro A contest (Race 6) will highlight the 12 race program at Selangor Turf Club on Saturday where promising mare STREETS OF FIRE (5) returns to the race track for the first time in eleven months. The seven year old has suffered with several injury issues throughout her career, hence she has only had the 18 starts for 6 wins and 7 placings. She looked sharp and primed following her trial win here Tuesday week ago and she possesses a good record with 4 wins from 6 starts over the 1400m trip. SKYDANCE ECLIPSE (2) will jump as one of the favorites following his decisive victory over the same journey a month ago. The eight year old was placed in the G1 Piala Emas Sultan Selangor prior to that and it appears he has recaptured his best form. CHEVAL RAPIDE (3) is building a handy local record with 3 wins from 8 starts and was heavily supported to start favorite when finishing 4th behind SKYDANCE ECLIPSE (2) in that same race. The 4kg claim for rookie apprentice Tuan Ammar places the gelding in good stead to reverse the result this time around. WAR DRAGON (6) was on the downgrade and had no problem in accounting for a Class 3 field over 1100m three weeks ago while ROBBERY SON (9) can be added to the trifectas.
Race 6 Selections: 2 – 3 – 5 – 6
A couple of runners who are resuming in the 1100m Class 4 event (Race 8) appear to be genuine chances after impressing at the trials Tuesday week ago. STAR BULLET (1) will be first up since August and produced the quickest time for the morning session when scoring by 13 lengths in 59.98 seconds. Former Singapore galloper KIMITONARA (7), now prepared by Simon Dunderdale, looked well when finishing 2nd in its respective trial and will be first up since March last year. Last start winner TUN O’REILLY (4) cannot be discounted despite the outside draw while KRATOS (3) should improve following three runs this preparation.
Race 9 Selections: 7 – 1 – 4 – 3
