Pitch-perfect for Perfetto

Hong Kong racing continues at Sha Tin on Sunday (5 March) for a 10-race turf fixture.

Facile last-start winner PERFETTO looks a standout on the card and he can score two wins on end when he returns to Sha Tin in the Class 4 1600m Handicap (race 6).

From the David Hall yard, PERFETTO has raced five times and his impressive last-start win when rising to the mile for the first time was his first career win. Sent off a heavily backed even money favourite under Zac Purton, PERFETTO raced midfield and had the race run to suit as the leaders seemingly went too hard. PERFETTO cruised into the straight full of running under minimal urging from Purton and drew clear for a two-length score untouched.

PERFETTO looked well in a recent trial since while remaining in Class 4 holds him in good stead to win again as he meets no tougher task in regards to opposition. Hugh Bowman replaces a suspended Zac Purton this week.

Elsewhere, in-form four-year-old ADEFILL is an interesting runner as he chases a hat-trick of wins when he rises to Class 3 in the 1200m Handicap on the all-weather in race 9.

Though going unplaced in his first six career starts but showing glimpses of ability, ADEFILL is unbeaten in two starts since switching to the all-weather, winning easily by 1.5 lengths at his first try before proving it no fluke to win going away by 6.25 lengths subsequently.

ADEFILL does face his toughest test as he takes the class rise on Sunday, but now that he has found his niche, he looks to have what it takes to climb higher in the ratings.
