The 1200m Class 2/3 Combined (Race 6) event headlines the ten race card at Selangor Turf Club on Sunday and features a rematch between CHEVAL RAPIDE (1) and SAN ANDREAS (6), which finished 1st and 2nd respectively in a 1400m Metro A contest here on February 25. CHEVAL RAPIDE (1) is building a good record locally with 4 wins from 9 starts and scored in dominant fashion here with apprentice Tuan Ammar astride. The nine year old rises 5.5kg in the weights after the claim but despite that, he possesses the class to win again. SAN ANDREAS (6) is a progressive type currently rated at a career high of 77 ratings points and will carry the same weight from his previous encounter with CHEVAL RAPIDE (1) after the R Nuqman 1kg claim. WATCH THE THRONE (2) has not raced since his fast finishing 2nd in the 1200m Penang Island Cup on December 25 last year and his first up record suggests he can recapture the form he displayed when winning six in succession a couple of seasons ago. Stable mate GOOD MAN (8) defeated a handy Class 3 lineup here on February 26 and has trained on well since while WAR DRAGON (4) pulled up lame last start but is worth reconsidering.

The 1200m Class 3 (Race 7) appears wide open with five of the ten runners coming off last start wins. GOLDEN CHAMP (9) may be the pick of those as he aims for the hat trick and attempts to maintain his unbeaten record in the country. With both wins over 1100m, he appears ideally placed to defy the class rise. FLYING DURUMI (2) is a good beginner and a very honest campaigner who is proven at Class 3 company and will no doubt be a force to be reckoned with once again. HADEER (6) has done little wrong in his two Malaysian outings and will be looking to break through for the first time since September 2021. RESOLUTE (5) has not won since taking out the Ipoh Charity Cup in November but flew late when runner up over 1200m here on January 23.
