PROWESS TO POWER HOME

Quality three-year-old filly PROWESS looks set to stamp her class on her first Australian start when she lines up in the $600,000 Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes over 2000m from Rosehill Racecourse, Australia on Saturday.

For New Zealand-based trainers Roger James & Robert Wellwood, PROWESS has been a shining light for the stable since making her race track debut on 30 April last year. The daughter of Proisir won her first two career starts by a combined margin of 10.5 lengths before going on to place third in her next two races. Since then, PROWESS has remained unbeaten, posting four wins in succession which include the G2 Auckland Guineas and, most recently, the G1 Bonecrusher New Zealand Stakes over 2050m.

Top Australian jockey Mark Zahra will ride PROWESS on Saturday and the pair look ideally placed from barrier 4. With a Handicap rating of 108 but at level weights against her opposition, PROWESS is hard to oppose.

PARNHAM TO DEMOLISH RIVALS

Three-year-old gelding DEMOLISH can bounce back to his winning ways in the $125,000 Listed Melvista Stakes over 2200m from Ascot Racecourse, Australia on Saturday.

DEMOLISH is a two-time winner and eight-time place-getter from 15 starts and is fourth-up into his current preparation. The Neville Parnham-trained bay is on the back of consecutive second placings over 1600m and 1800m, only narrowly beaten each time and turning in a solid run last start after doing it tough up on the pace.

Barrier 4 should ensure DEMOLISH gets an ideal run throughout the 2200m journey on Saturday and he stands out as the one they all have to beat as he should be at peak fitness now.

MEET BULLOCK ON THE PODIUM

Trainer Sam Kavanagh will be confident that three-year-old MEET ME IN BONDI can break through in the $45,000 Maiden race over 1600m at Wyong racecourse this Saturday.

MEET ME IN BONDI has shown improvement recently and he is off the back of a solid second at Warwick Farm two weeks ago. Giving a bold sight that day, the Snitzel gelding led every post but the winning post, beaten half a length over this distance.

This week, MEET ME IN BONDI finds a much easier race returning to the provincial track and from an ideal draw, he should endure a perfect trip and can prove hard to run down under jockey Aaron Bullock.
