R1 – PRIX DE LA CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE ET D’INDUSTRIE DE TOULOUSE – 2100m (a1 5/16m) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 21.000
- PABLO – Unplaced at Pau in February over 2000m. Looks safely held against some promising types.
- CUSANO – A lot to like about a 2nd place run at Marseille-Borely on debut over 2000m last month. Strong contender.
- DIVIN PROPOS – Ran a credible race when 3rd on debut at Bordeaux Le Bouscat over 1600m in February. Needs more to feature here.
- GRIS DE PERLES – Ran a promising debut at this track last month over 2100m. Place claims here.
- STAR PLATINUM – 3rd at this venue in the same race as GRIS DE PERLES (4), and is not out of challenging for a place position.
- DREAM ANGEL – 3rd at Mont-De-Marsan over 2450m in March, can progress from that and is a live threat.
- DOUBLE MAJOR – 2nd at Deauville over 1900m in March. Can go one better here. The one to beat.
- FRENCH GLORY DAY – Unraced colt by FRENCH FIFTEEN, from a strong stable. Is expected to be ready to run a good debut.
Summary : DOUBLE MAJOR (7) with experience on his side, should be able to win here. FRENCH GLORY DAY (8) from the powerful Pantall stable, will progress for today’s debut, but is expected to put in a good performance. DREAM ANGEL (6) has also experience on his side, and with improvement is among the top chances. CUSANO (2) ran a good debut as well, and can only improve for that, he needs strong consideration.

R2 – PRIX CRISTOBAL – 2100m (a1 5/16m) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 21.000
- NOROLLES – Was not beaten far from the 2nd placed horse when 5th behind a convincing winner at this track over 2100m last month. Place chance.
- THERE IS NO NO – 4th at Toulouse last month over 2100m. Should make progress from that, and win here.
- OZALEE – Midfield on only run at this track last month over 2100m. Should not be ignored.
- COCOON QUATRE – Unplaced here in March over 2100m. Needs a lot more to be involved at the finish.
- MATILDE – Unplaced at Chantilly over 1900m in February. Others make more appeal.
- ANGEL CHARLY – Unplaced at Dax over 1400m last July. Might need this return run from a long time out.
- MUSIC DAY – Unplaced at Deauville in March over 1900m. Can figure here, as expected to improve for that debut run.
- BISKA – Has not shown much in two outings. The latter over 1600m at Pau in February. Happy to avoid.
- UNION SQUARE – Unplaced at Cagnes -Sur-Mer in February over 2150, was not a bad effort. And was a good second prior to that. Has solid claims here.
- ZOOKS – A good 4th on debut at Fontainebleau over 2200m last month. With usual improvement, can be involved at the finish.
Summary : THERE IS NO NO (2) put in an encouraging run at this track when last seen, and can progress from it, this looks a nice opportunity to get a win. UNION SQUARE (9) is from the powerful Rouget stable. Her first run was possibly her best, but she did not disgrace herself last time, and looks the main danger. The Godolphin filly MUSIC DAY (7) can be expected to have learned plenty from her run at Deauville, and is in the mix. ZOOKS (10) did nothing wrong on her debut, and has strong place claims here.
SELECTIONS |
THERE IS NO NO (2) – UNION SQUARE (9) – MUSIC DAY (7) – ZOOKS (10) |
R3 – PRIX DES GRANDES FONTAINES – 3000m (a1 7/8m) – TURF – Divised Handicap – Class 2 – Flat – EUR € 53.000
- PAPER TROPHY – Good comeback win at Toulouse. Has won over 3200 so this distance is not a problem. Has to give weight to his rivals but is not out of it.
- MY CHARMING PRINCE – Fought on nicely to score at Deauville last time out on the PSF. As good on the grass and has a winning chance.
- JAAFAR – Very good form in handicaps having won two of three attempts. Can continue that trend and is the one to beat.
- BLUES ROCK – Not disgraced when third last time out and remains a danger off his current handicap rating so deserves some respect.
- STELVIO – Likes this course and was not disgraced when runner-up over this track and distance last time out. but more needed this time- Can place.
- HALIMI – Good recent form in claimers including a win at Cagnes-sur-Mer last time out. Previously at best in the UK. Could play a minor role at best.
- HIPODAMO DE MILETO – Returned from a break to win in Spain last time out. Has done better in that country than in France and others are preferred.
- NAISHAN – Fit and did win his penultimate start but the 2.5kg penalty for that win resulted in a eight place finish last time out so more is needed.
- COTE JARDIN – Better on the grass so it is worth ignoring his last two starts in 2022. Returns from a break and is distance suited. Might place.
- KAPANI – Unreliable and is probably better on the PSF of late. Gets on well with current jockey so is not without a chance of earning some minor money.
- BONAPARTE SIZING – Likes this course and is coming off a nice win over this track and distance. Up 2.5kg for that win but could get involved with the finish.
- BARBADIN – In very good form and is likely to turn the tables on rival Bonaparte Sizing at the revised weights. Clearly not out of it in this line-up.
- LA TEMPLIERE – Returned from a break to be runner-up last time out. Fitter now and is dangerous off this handicap mark and has a winning chance.
- AUEN ADVENTURE – Consistent off current mark but may need to do more to win this race. Ran behind Stelvio earlier in the year.
- VOILA POURQUOI – Probably best to ignore his last run on the PSF. Two good wins before that Cagnes-sur-Mer offer a better reflection of his form. Consider.
- BLACKJAC DU HOULEY – A bitter disappointment when only seventh last time out. Capable of doing better but this is a tougher task and others are preferred.
Summary : Anything is always possible in a handicap but our selection JAAFAR (3) has already picked up to win in just three handicaps and can overcome a 2.5kg penalty for his latest win. LA TEMPLIERE (13) was runner-up in her comeback run indicating that she may be ready for a return to the winners enclosure. BLUES ROCK (4) is competitive off his ratings as well. PAPER TROPHY (1) and MY CHARMING PRINCE (2) both carry penalties for their latest win and are also not out of it.
SELECTIONS |
JAAFAR (3) – LA TEMPLIERE (13) – BLUES ROCK (4) – PAPER TROPHY (1) |
R4 – RIX DES CYPRES – 2200m (a1 3/8m) – TURF – Claiming Handicap – Class 4 – Flat – EUR € 16.000
- EL INGRATO – Holding form well and does well in claimers so has a winning chance over a distance that clearly suits.
- LUNATICOS – Has been kept to the PSF this year with three modest performances. Won twice on the Grass last year so can improve.
- BOURDAIN – Two modest runs on the PSF earlier this year and regressed even further when 12th last time out. Best watched for now.
- LA BARILLETTE – Clearly unreliable but she did win her penultimate start and can never be dismissed away easily. Might place.
- ALKUIN – Returns from a break but is quite capable of winning this if fit. Runner-up off this mark last time out and a win earlier in her career over Saint Cloud speaks volumes and is supplemented for this.
- OLYMPIC DREAM – Disappointing last run. Fifth in a claimer in Germany before that. Only win was on the PSF and may prefer that surface.
- KING SOLOMON – Two disappointing runs at Deaville on the PSF. Capable of better returning to the turf. Respect.
- LIFE’S A BREEZE – He has struggled in his two starts this year and has lost his way. Needs major improvement to win this race.
- MAJORETTE – Disappointing form on the PSF this year. Clearly capable of better but has it all to in this race and others are preferred.
Summary : Although the trip may seem a touch short for his aptitude, ALKUIN (5) has enough class to make a winning return action. EL INGRATO (1) is a solid performer in the claiming division and is expected to be the main danger to the selection. OLYMPIC DREAM (6) is obviously better than his last run suggests and is expected to show a different face this time around. LA BARILLETTE (4) is not the most consistent performer but is hard to ignore in a race of this nature.

ALKUIN (5) – EL INGRATO (1) – OLYMPIC DREAM (6) – LA BARILLETTE (4) |
R5 – PRIX DE SAINT-HILAIRE – 1200m (a6f) – TURF – Handicap – Class 3 – Flat – EUR € 20.000
- NATURAL PATH – Latest two runs in Spain. Has to show a lot more to trouble these.
- TAWHIRI – Won at Mont- De -Marsan in March over 1200m. Strong chance of another win.
- TILL WE DIE – Has been out of form since November last year. Best watched for now.
- CRISTAL MARVELOUS – Unplaced in March over 1200m at Fontainebleau in a Class 2 was far from poor. Can make amends, and is a player here.
- ISMAEL PAINT – 3rd at Fontainebleau over 1200m in March, can be involved again here.
- MONSIEUR BEAULIEU – Seemed better over 1200m two runs back when 2nd at Mont-De-Marsan last September. Fitness to prove here.
- UNTITLED – A 3rd place at this track over 1400m in March was a fair effort. Has ran well over course and distance before. Sure to be involved.
- BADASS – Three less convincing runs of late. 2nd at Dax last September over 1200m. Best watched for the time being.
- ROSA PARKS – Couple of unplaced efforts recently. Has been placed here over this trip, needs a reproduction of that to be involved.
Summary : TAWHIRI (2) does not know how to put in a poor run, he is very honest, and the one to beat. The genuine ISMAEL PAINT (5) has been in good form and can give another good account of himself here. A regular runner at this track UNTITLED (7) should again be involved at the finish. CRISTAL MARVELOUS (4) can make her presence felt, she knows how to win.
SELECTIONS |
TAWHIRI (2) – ISMAEL PAINT (5) – UNTITLED (7) – CRISTAL MARVELOUS (4) |
R6 – PRIX DU BOIS DE LA COMMANDERIE – 2600m (a1 5/8m) – TURF – Condition Race – Class 3 – Flat – EUR € 18.000
- SUPER QUARTZ – Two disappointing runs from him of late and does better in handicaps. More is needed to win this race.
- BLACK MILORD TAVEL – Two nice wins on the PSF in the last wo starts. Struggled on the turf in his first two starts so may be one to watch this time.
- NACHTFLUG – Consistent but is returning from a 200 days break. Has a winning chance if fit and ready for this.
- MATAURI GOLD – A bit of a disappointment last time out. Returns from a break and is probably better on the turf so can fight it out.
- MYSTIC – Probably needed his comeback run when fourth. Stepped up on that with a nice win last time out. Big chance.
- NO MORE BOLERO – Won nicely on debut in 2021 and was not disgraced in comeback run in 2022 but disappointed in third start. Returns from a break.
Summary : A small field but there may not be much between the four selected. MYSTIC (5) showed promise when scoring last time out and can follow-up with another victory. MATAURI GOLD (4) returns after a break but is better on the turf so his last run can be ignored. NACHTFLUG (3) returns from a 200 day break but if fit he should be right there at the finish yet again. BLACK MILORD TAVEL (2) is in good form with two recent wins on the PSF and is not out of it.

R7 – PRIX DE LA CITE MEDIEVALE – 2400m (a1 1/2m) – TURF – Divised Handicap – Class 4 – Flat – EUR € 16.000
- WINMAN IN GREY – A recent 3rd over 3000m at this track, was another good run. Sure to go close.
- JUST YOU AND ME – Veteran performer who ran well when 3rd two starts ago at Marseille Borely, should be in the mix.
- WHERE CHOP – 2nd here over 2100m that came 17 days ago, so no fitness worries. Expected to play a major role here.
- BEB’S – Won two runs ago at Cagnes-Sur-Mer over 2150m in February. Place claims.
- PRINCEDESCHAMPS – Two poor runs this year. Has dropped in the ratings, but needs to convince again.
- KINGS OF LEON – Has a string of moderate performances since last October. Happy to avoid at the moment.
- AMIATA – Has been out of form of late over various trips. Unlikely to trouble these.
- FIAMELCA DOLOISE – Looks as though a good run is needed, as the last four have been poor since a 3rd place finish at Pau last October.
- AGAMEMNON – Four less than convincing runs are his latest efforts. Out of form and best watched.
- ZINZICHERA – Has dropped to a reasonable handicap mark, and has a good chance of being involved at the business end.
- BALGEES TIME – Unplaced at Pau over 2400m in February. Needs more to be involved.
- SUPERIOR BADOLAT – Won at Marseille Borely in a Class 4 in March over 2100m. Has top-three claims.
- PEDRAZA LESCRIBAA – Three poor runs since a 4th place effort here over 3000m. Others rate higher.
Summary : A recent good run by WHERE CHOP (3)bodes well for him going one better in this. WINMAN IN GREY (1) likes it here, and looks the biggest danger to the main choice. ZINZICHERA (10) has been given a chance by the handicapper, and should put in a better performance today. SUPERIOR BADOLAT (12) comes here on a high after a recent win, and is in the mix.

R8 – PRIX DE LA CROIX DE VITRY – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Handicap – Flat – EUR € 25.000
- AORAKI – She probably needed her comeback run and she did run some fair races in 2022 but others are much preferred this time.
- ELAUNEIL – Fit off three runs already this year. Drops in distance and tries a handicap . Has a winning chance.
- CONSCRIBE – Only modest in first three starts. Probably fitter now for her handicap debut. Best watched this time prehaps.
- VEDAMIYA – Only modest in her first two turf runs. Improved in third start when runner-up on the PSF. Returns from a break but is not out of it.
- DEAU COEUR – Best runs on the PSF were in claimers but showed she prefers the turf with a fair fourth in a handicap last time out. Respect.
- SIYOUCHKA – Consistent so far and was runner-up in a handicap off this mark in November. Can go one better returning from a break.
- SAGGEZZA – Six runs this year and she has won two them(claimers). Has struggled off her current mark in handicaps though.
- MY EMOTION – Fair third in penultimate start but followed that up with a sixth place in a handicap. Needs to do more to win.
- DESIMONE – Fair start to her career but has regressed since then and has struggled in handicaps so others are much preferred this time.
Summary : SIYOUCHKA (6) was runner-up in a handicap last time out. She returns from a break but if fit and well could be the right one in this field. ELAUNEIL (2) has fitness on her side but this is her first time in a handicap. VEDAMIYA (4) has room for improvement after a break and could prove better than rated. DEAU COEUR (5) does not have the scope of other runners but could still contest the finish.

R9 – PRIX DE LA VILLE ROSE – 2400m (a1 1/2m) – TURF – Divised Handicap – Class 3 – Flat – EUR € 20.000
- PARABAK – Seems versatile over various trips. Ran well when last seen here last month when 4th over 2100m. Sure to go close.
- NUIT DE FEU – Lightly raced and is unexposed. Ran well when 3rd at Nimes in February over 2600m. Place chance in this.
- MORANDI FIRST – A recent good 3rd at Bordeaux Le Bouscat over 2400m in March suggests that a win is not too far off. Can be involved again here.
- KAURI CLIFFS – 3rd at this track over 2100m in March. Has top-three chance.
- THECLIMB – Unplaced here over 2100m in March. Seems out of form, and best watched.
- OCEAN CHOP – Unplaced at Mont-De-Marsan in February over 2000m. Needs much more here.
- MA NOSTALGIE – Two below par runs this year. 3rd at Pau over 2400m in December, needs to replicate that to be involved.
- TRES DE TREBOL – Needs to put in a good run before being recommended. 3rd at Madrid (Spain) in December over 2400m. Others rate higher.
- BLACK GAIA – A win last October four runs ago was a best effort of late, that was over 1900m. Best watched until a return to form.
- JARDIN BLEU – 2nd here over 3000m in March, will probably enjoy this drop back in trip today. Key chance.
- PLATEADO – 3rd at this track in March over 2400m. Outside place chance in this.
- SELLY – Ran a fair race when 5th at this venue in march over 2100m. Can give a good account here.
Summary : Course and distance winner JARDIN BLEU (10) is the logical choice here, he will be difficult to overcome. PARABAK (1) has been running well of late without getting his head in front. He looks a danger to the first choice selection. KAURI CLIFFS (4) is another to consider. He has ran well here before, and should put in another good effort. MORANDI FIRST (3) put in an encouraging run last time, and should be a player here.

R10 – PRIX DES HAUTEURS DE LA SOLLE – 2600m (a1 5/8m) – TURF – Handicap – Flat – EUR € 32.000
- SHEMBALA – Third on her handicap debut and has done fine so far. Steps up in distance and should fight it out.
- KANZA – Promising form so far with a good win in penultimate start and was a fair fourth last time out. Tackles stronger this time.
- WE CAN FLY – Fourth over this course and distance last month. First time in a handicap and should contest the finish.
- PETRA STAR – Unreliable last year but was not disgraced when runner-up over 2000m at this track in a handicap. Respect this trip.
- LOVING STAR – Fit and has been runner-up twice in handicaps off her current mark. Deserves a winning change stepped up in trip.
- ONE POINT – Won a handicap in her penultimate start but seems anchored by a penalty as she was only seventh off her revised mark.
- SANBER – Has run some fair races and was third in only attempt of a handicap. More needed to win but could play a minor role.
- ZOYA – Fit and has some fair form this year. Fourth in a handicap at this course last time out. Could like this longer distance.
- GREASE – Did not show much in two starts last year but has improved somewhat this year. Third in a handicap last time out and can place.
- KABEIR PIT – Has only been modest in both PSF runs of this year, Better on the turf and could improve making his handicap debut.
- GREEN PERFUME – Modest last two runs in claimers and needs to find a few lengths trying a longer distance this time.
Summary : Most but not all of these runners are unproven over this distance and it is a handicap so an upset is possible but it is hard to look past LOVING STAR (5). Runner-up in both her last two handicaps indicates she is ready to win. WE CAN FLY (3) was fourth over this course and distance last time out and can do even better this time. SHEMBALA (1) has been consistent so far and should like the longer trip. The unreliable PETRA STAR (4) can also get involved with the finish.

- MASCAGNI – Showed promise when runner-up on his Saint Cloud debut a little over a year ago. Winning chance if returning fit.
- SKIPPER – Did not show much in his two starts of 2022. Likely to improve this year but could need this comeback run.
- LIPS LEO – Disappointing last start when only sixth but did better in his first three starts. Could be the surprise package returning from a break.
- EYRIE – Eleventh on debut last month at this track. Improvement is expected this shorter distance and can upset.
- EAGLE ROSE – Placed third in three of four starts last year. Returns from a lengthy break but has to be considered.
- BAIONA – Slight improvement in each start and is fit so could play a minor role. Back on the turf this time.
- TANABATA – Good first two runs in 2022. She returns from a break but if fit and well she holds a winning chance. Supplemented for this.
- SOKA D’ANS – Well beaten on debut when on the PSF. Did a lot better when sixth last time out. More needed to win this race.
- GOLDANIA – Well beaten on Toulouse debut in 2022. Did a lot better when sixth in her only start of 2023. More needed to win this race.

- KEDANCE – A four-year-old filly by Counterattack who is making her debut. Likely to need this experience.
Summary : A lot of unexposed runners but we should get a good run out of AMIRAVATI (12). She ran better than the fifth-place shows in the form book last time out and can do a lot better this time. MASCAGNI (2) did nicely on debut but his fitness will have to be taken on trust returning from a lengthy break. TANABATA (8) also returns from a break but has been supplemented for this race so must be fit and ready for this. EYRIE (5) could be the surprise package.
