As was the case for the two day meeting last weekend, Course A4 will be utilized for the ten race card at Selangor Turf Club on Sunday with the rail out 4m for the entire circuit.
The 1200m Class 3 (Race 5) headlines the program where GOLDEN CHAMP (4) and FLYING DURUMI (1) are set to clash again after their previous encounter here three weeks ago. GOLDEN CHAMP (4) was successful on that occasion and is on the quick backup following his first defeat in the country when finishing third over 1100m last Sunday. The Brazilian bred performer posted the hat trick in a Class 3 contest over this journey last month and is capable of atoning immediately. FLYING DURUMI (1) has won 5 from 13 locally and received every chance when 4th to GOLDEN CHAMP (4) last start but has the capacity to reverse the result after being freshened. Interesting newcomer is MY BIG BOSS (3), which last raced in Singapore 26 months ago and has recently joined the Selangor stables of Simon Dunderdale. The seven year old wasn’t overly taxed in his Tuesday morning trial and has only missed the place once in six outings when resuming. HIGH WATER (8) is also on the seven day backup and although he received every chance last start, he still has a weight advantage on most of his rivals. KIWI KID (5) is first up for four months but has been competitive at this level previously.
One of the star workers on the training track this week is the Buffalo Stable runner MIRACLE (3), who is looking to break his local duck in the 1200m Class 4 contest (Race 4). MIRACLE (3) should be at peak fitness following two runs this campaign and will looking to strike for the first time since successive wins in Singapore towards the end of last season. IRONCLAD (4) has been a model of consistency this preparation and is capable of bouncing back despite being a beaten favourite at his past two starts. Trainer Frank Maynard has acquired handy performer MICHIKAWA (8), who resumes from a bleeding attack sustained in September last year. The versatile five year old may be one to watch for the new camp. Former Kiwi ANSUN (1) did not disgrace in a Class 4 race last month while former Australian galloper LITTLE PLEASURES (2) has been working well on the training track and is first up for eight months.
