Race Preview
R1 – PRIX DURBAN – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Condition Race – Class 1 – Flat – EUR € 35.000
1. HALEINE – Impressive when winning on debut and hasn’t been seen since but is also likely to
improve this term. Keep safe.
2. IMMENSITUDE – Unplaced in both outings this year but seldom finishes far off the mark. Place
chance under Christophe Soumillon.
3. PEARL HARBOUR – Made a winning start to 2023 and was a fair 4th last time out, Could play
a minor role.
4. LADY ACE – Improved with every outing last year, culminating in a last-start success. Could
have a say with further improvement likely.
5. ADELIADE – Won her last start in 2022 before the winter break and is another likely to make
further progress. Has a shout.
6. LEFT SEA – Unplaced in a Group III after winning on debut but open to any amount of
improvement after a break.
7. FRENCH BOB – Runner-up on her reappearance having scored at her previous outing.
Respected with improved fitness on her side.
Summary : Several of these three-year-old fillies are destined for a bright future. LEFT SEA (6)
blew her rivals away on debut at Deauville last summer before finishing 6th in a Group III and could
return to winning ways on her reappearance after the winter break. HALEINE (1) also impressed
when making a winnng debut and must be respected in her bid to remain unbetaen returning after
a rest. FRENCH BOB (7) has done nothing wrong and is worth considering, as is ADELIADE (5)
who has been entered in the spring classics.
SELECTIONS
LEFT SEA (6) – HALEINE (1) – FRENCH BOB (7) – ADELIADE (5)
R2 – PRIX PAT GLENNON (CHMPT PARIS TURF DES APPRENTIS & JEUNES JOCKEYS) – 1400m (a7f) – TURF – Claiming Handicap – Class 4 – Flat – EUR € 16.000
1. AFGHANY – Won his last start at this level and could redeem himself after 2 runs in handicap
races. Leading light.
2. BRAVEHEART – Highest-rated runner in the race and will benefit from his rider’s 2,5kg claim.
Include.
3. NEPENTE – Unreliable sort but quite capable of staking a claim in a race like this. Respect.
4. JUMANO – Inconsistent but remains capable of playing a minor role at this level. Place chance.
5. MISTER GRENADINE – Has been struggling for some time now and is unlikely to trouble the
judge here.
6. WALLEM – Capable of better than his last starts suggests and could have a role to play back on
the grass.
7. HOOK – Reassured with an improved 3rd last time out but will need to confirm to have a say.
8. PISORNO – Nothing noteworthy to his name for a considerable period. Can be ruled out.
9. TRUST AHEAD – Bounced back to something of his best when 2nd in a similar contest at Le
Croise-Laroche. Can confirm.
10. ON THE EDGE – Has looked distinctly ordinary for some time now, so chances limited even at
this level.
Summary : AFGHANY (1) won a claiming race at Deauville in February and has run better in his
2 subsequent starts than his finishing positions may suggest, so should be aiming for victory back
in this grade. His biggest dangers are BRAVEHEART (2) and TRUST AHEAD (9) who are likely to
be competitive following improved recent outings. WALLEM (6) completes the shortlist.
SELECTIONS
AFGHANY (1) – BRAVEHEART (2) – TRUST AHEAD (9) – WALLEM (6)

Outsider.
3. COSMO BEAU – Competitive and maintaining his consistency at this mark in the weights.
Respected in his first start on the grass.
4. LORCAN – Finished a pleasing 4th on his comeback at Pornichet recently and should have a
say if building on that.
5. BOLT OF THUNDER – Deserved to open his account when winning at this course last time. Up
3kg but could follow up.
6. DEAU COEUR – Unreliable sort but quite capable of playing a minor role in a race like this. Dark
horse.
7. KOBRA PEPPER – Has looked distinctly ordinary for some time now, so chances limited even
at this level.
8. PORTRERO – Was 2nd to BOLT OF THUNDER (5) last time and is unlikely to be far off again.
Lurker.
9. VILLEMACHO – Has been struggling for some time now and is unlikely to trouble the judge.
10. GOLDEN TRIP – Reassured with an improved 4th over 1400m last time and in similar form
should be competitive.
11. WHAT ELSE CHOP – Twice 3rd in 5 starts but needs to raise his game to play more than a
minor role here.
12. LA SWISS – Another who has been struggling for some time now so unlikely to trouble the
judge.
Summary : A case can be made for several of these in this three-year-old handicap but BOLT OF
THUNDER (5) is of particular interest and taken to defy the penalty for his last-start success by
following up here. COSMO BEAU (3) is proven at this level on the fibresand and ought to be
competitive if as effective on the grass. LORCAN (4) seldom runs a bad race and is likely to make
his presence felt too after a pleasing comeback run at Pornichet. GOLDEN TRIP (10) completes
the shortlist.

2. BLOOD CHOPE – Could have a say on the form of her 2nd over 1600m at this track on March
28. Lurker.
3. SALSA CHIC – Has done well on the grass so could redeem herself back onto this surface.
Worth another chance.
4. COVADONGA – Unreliable sort but quite capable of staking a claim in a race like this. Place
chance.
5. MAKSEN SENORA – Another who has looked distinctly ordinary for some time and can be
overlooked here.
6. QUEEN OF THE NIGHT – Caught the eye when finishing 2nd in her most recent start at
Compiègne over 1400m. Respected.
7. ASTURIAS ROAD – Has a leading role to play here judged on his recent 2nd at Fontainebleau.
Shortlisted.
8. ECCELSO – Has looked distinctly ordinary for some time now, so chances limited even at this
level.
9. FELI CHOP – Nothing noteworthy to his name for a considerable period so can be ruled out here.

12. ART PREMIER – Has been struggling for some time now and is unlikely to trouble the judge.
13. PREMIER DIVISION – Has done nothing to warrant any consideration and can be ruled out.
Overlook.
14. MEHANYDREAM – Not far off QUEEN OF THE NIGHT (6) when finishing 3rd last timeout. Can
get into the picture.
15. COCO LIGHT – Nothing noteworthy to his name for a considerable period so can be ruled out
here.
Summary : Its been a long time between drinks for SALSA CHIC (3) but she is taken to recapture
the winning thread stepping back on the grass for the first time since September. Both ASTURIAS
ROAD (7) and QUEEN OF THE NIGHT (6) are likely to give cheek to the selection after improved
runners-up finishes last time out. MEHANYDREAM (14) and TENORIO (10) are also capable of
staking a claim so not discounted here.
