CHEVAL RAPIDE (1) will head the weights as he searches for redemption following his last start defeat over the 1100m trip behind the promising Lonely Boy. The Irish bred entire steps up to the 1400m where he was successful two starts back when defeating SAN ANDREAS (3) back in February. SAN ANDREAS (3) has been one of the most improved gallopers here in the past twelve months and is coming off a last start win over 1200m a month ago. The six year old has won 6 from 15 locally and will have the services of visiting Brazilian jockey Edson Ferreira, who rode his first Malaysian winner last Sunday. BERRY BLISS (4) resumes and remains unbeaten in two starts when produced first up from a spell. The lightly raced four year old has not started since running 5th in the 2000m G1 Piala Emas Sultan Selangor last December and has the capacity to strike first up. STREETS OF FIRE (2) failed to show up when resuming from an eleven month break in February but is coming off an impressive trial win and also boasts an excellent second up record. RESURGENCE (8) and TELLER (9) both benefit with the pull in the weights and both should be considered as worty trifecta chances.

The 1400m Class 3 contest (Race 8) should provide a good clash between TRINITY GENERAL (3) and PERFECT (10), which are both coming off last start wins, There were doubts whether TRINITY GENERAL (3) would cope stepping up to the mile for the first time but those fears were quickly allayed as the six year old strolled to victory here on February 26. The KC Tiang entire romped home to a seven length trial win here Tuesday week ago and looks ready to strike from the freshen up. PERFECT (10) has race fitness on his side and continues to impress locally with four wins from nine starts and appears on track for successive victories. A six time winner over the distance, the seven year old will prove hard to beat with the weight advantage over his main rivals. GOOD FIGHT (9) finished runner up to perfect a fortnight ago and continues to race well for the Simon Dunderdale stable. Last year’s Coronation Cup (G1) winner, COLONEL CHIEF (6) (Ex Elite Remarkable) has not only had the name change but is a recent acquisition for the inform Frank Maynard stable. The eight year old is capable of upsetting while stable mate, LEOPARD ECLIPSE (8) has defeated two subsequent winners at his past two starts and must be rated a chance despite the rise in class.
