Smart three-year-old colt THE FORTUNE TELLER is poised to claim the $200,000 Group 3 Hawkesbury Guineas over 1400m from Hawkesbury Racecourse, Australia on Saturday.
The Ciaron Maher & David Eustace-trained up-and-comer has proven to be a good money spinner for connections so far, winning two from nine and placing a further four times. Over the course of his so-far short career, THE FORTUNE TELLER has been seen in some much stronger form races than this week’s, including minor placings in races such as the G3 Carbine Club Stakes at Caulfield, the G2 Sandown Guineas and the G2 Autumn Stakes at Flemington.
THE FORTUNE TELLER enters Saturday’s feature a last-start winner, claiming the G3 Carbine Club Stakes at Randwick on 1 April. It comes as no surprise to see champion hoop James McDonald take the ride on THE FORTUNE TELLER given he is the clear stand out on form, and they should be proving too good.
