R17 – PRIX ALAIN LEQUEUX – 2100m (a1 5/16m) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 21.000
1. GOLDEN CITY – Not disgraced when fifth on debut over Parislongchamp over 1800m. Smarter
now and has been supplemented for this race. Go close
2. BASELITZ – A bit of a disappointment when only sixth last time out. Fair form before that and
could finish in the money once again
3. ALCYONE – Showed improvement in her first start of this year but did not back it up last time
out. Could play a minor role
4. MIGNARDE – Not at all disgraced when she was fourth on debut over 2150m. This could be a
tougher task but she could finish in the money
5. BREIZH MOON – Ran well when third on debut last month over 1800m. Steps up in distance
and should improve. Has a winning chance
6. VERSION COX – Sixth on her debut at Bordeaux-Le-Bouscat last month. Likely to improve on
that this time and could finish in the money
7. MYTHICAL WORLD – Consistent and has been in good form of late. Needs to do a bit more to
win a race but should fight out the finish
8. PETE THE GARDENER – A three-year-old gelding by Recorder out of Red Vixen who is making
his debut. Could need the experience
9. ALLEE DES DAMES – A three-year-old filly by Cloth Of Stars out of Lucky Lot who is making
her debut. Could need the experience
10. WIRI WIRI – A three-year-old filly by Nathanial out of Sommerflora who is making her debut.

Summary : Another competitive race. GOLDEN CITY (1) ran well on debut and being
supplemented for this race suggests a big run is expected. MYTHICAL WORLD (7) is consistent
so should not be discounted but does battle to finish off the race. BREIZH MOON (5) ran well when
third last time out and could have more to offer. BASELITZ (2) is surely better than the sixth-place
finish last time out and can earn some money.

1. JADE DU CROATE – Probably needed her only start of 2023 when fifth at Toulouse over 2000m.
Fitter now and can contest the finish
2. JARA’AH ATHBAH – Disappointing last run when only eighth. Unreliable but has run a couple
of good races and is not out of it
3. CASBAR METEORA – Improved with each start in 2022 and won nicely last time out. Steps up
in distance in first start of the year and could need this run
4. AL ZARAFFA CHAM – Unreliable in 2022 with a third place finish her best performance in six
starts. Likely to need this comeback run
5. JAIZANA EL AHLEM – Showed improvement when runner-up and ahead of rival in this CHINE
DE GHAZAL (9) and she should fight it once again
6. PETITE AATIKA – A bit of a disappointment when fifth in her only start of this year. Capable of
better and has a winning chance
7. JAWDA DU LOUP – Fourth on debut last year and returned this year for another fourth-place
finish. This is a tougher task but could play a minor role
8. MAI DU SOLEIL – Did not show much on debut but made good progress with a good third in her
second start. Could finish in the money
9. CHINE DE GHAZAL – Third on debut in March over 2000m. She should have learnt from that
run and should do even better this time
10. ALDAFNAH – A four-year-old filly by Azadi out of Gherdaiya who is making her debut. Could
need the experience
11. ALWASMIAH – A four-year-old filly by Al Mourtajez out of Al Nachmiya who is making her
debut. Watch the betting
12. DANIYAH – Did not show much on debut when tenth in March. Capable of improvement but is
probably best watched this time
13. AJAAYEB AL JASRA – A four-year-old filly by Al Albahar out of Ammante who is making her
debut. Could need the experience
14. JAMBALAYA – Did not show much when seventh on debut over 2000m in March. Likely to be
smarter this time but others are preferred
Summary : A very open looking race. CHINE DE GHAZAL (9) ran behind JAIZANA EL AHLEM (5)
last time out when third but is likely to improve more than that rival and could turn the tables.
JAIZANA EL AHLEM (5) is improving and should not be written off and she should go very close.
JARA’AH ATHBAH (2) is better than the last run and has run some decent races so is not out of it.
JADE DU CROATE (1) will be fitter this time and can do better.

1. SZAFRAN – A bit of a disappointment when only fifth last time out. Supplemented for her first
crack at a handicap and has a winning chance
2. GARDEN PARK – Only win was at this course but was seventh in a handicap last time out.
Capable of better and could earn some money
3. TAWAFUQ – Improving and was recently runner-up at this track over similar. Can go one better
first time in a handicap
4. MONCAYO – Well tried this year but has only been fair in handicaps in his last two starts. Could
play a minor role at very best
5. DABIRADJA – Very consistent in claimers of late. She struggled the last time she tried a
handicap and others are preferred for win purposes
6. PORT ADRIANO – Has yet to win after 13 attempts but has run some decent races off this mark
and she can contest the finish yet again
7. ANDELUNA – Consistent without winning so far and she was runner-up in a claimer last time
out. Could play a minor role at best
8. EVAMIS – Well tried without winning and she has only been fair in handicap company. Might
play a minor role
9. MAGIC SUNSET – Sixth on handicap debut last time out and was seventh in claimer before that
so needs to do more to win this race
10. OLYMPE DE GOUGE – On a long losing streak but was not disgraced when runner-up in a
handicap last time out. She has a winning chance
11. RECORD ME BELLE – Two disappointing runs in claimers this year. Did better last year but is
best watched on handicap debut
12. NIGHT CHOPE – Scored two claimer wins in 2022 but she has lost her way since then and she
needs to find a few lengths to win this race
13. ADELA – Slight improvement when fifth last time out but has only been moderate so far and
needs to do more to win this race
Summary : TAWAFUQ (3) is improving and looks a big runner on handicap debut. She was runnerup at this course last time out and can go one better. SZAFRAN (1) also tries handicap company
for the first time and has been supplemented for this race so will be a danger. OLYMPE DE GOUGE
(10) was runner-up in a handicap last time out and is threatening a win but is on a long losing
streak. PORT ADRIANO (6) is threatening to win off her handicap mark and deserves some
respect.
