Singapore racing continues this Saturday (20 May) for a 12-race fixture and the running of the $1 million Group 1 Kranji Mile.
Reigning Horse of the Year LIM’S KOSCIUSZKO is primed to land his second Group 1 win for the season when he lines up in the feature event.
LIM’S KOSCIUSZKO is undoubtedly the best horse in Singapore at the moment and he has scored his last two starts in emphatic fashion – including the G1 Raffles Cup – since returning from an unsuccessful attempt at the G1 Hong Kong Sprint at Sha Tin in December last year.
The son of Kermadec ticks all the boxes for this week’s feature as he boasts a perfect first-up record and is a three-time winner at the highest level.
LIM’S KOSCIUSZKO is also clear standout under this week’s racing conditions at set-weights. However, trainer Ricardo Le Grange’s duo, KATAK and HONGKONG GREAT, are both peaking at the right time and will give him a run for his money.
Moreover, rising star STREET OF DREAMS possesses untapped potential and is poised to make a big impact despite making his Group 1 debut at set weights.
Elsewhere, keep an eye on four-year-old WINNING STRIDE in the Class 4 Handicap over 1400m.
He was the victim of an early speed battle last start when there were four horses fighting for the lead in the early stages, so it was no surprise to see him fade in the straight before being well beaten 6.75 lengths into 11th over 1600m on the Polytrack.
He has since been transferred to trainer Steven Burridge’s stable from Donna Logan’s and is well prepared with two trials off a let-up. With a better-judged ride, he looks capable of running an improved race.
