Talented four-year-old MIGHTY STRIDE can atone for a last-start defeat and bounce back to his winning ways in the Class 2 Handicap over 1400m from Sha Tin on Sunday.
The Ricky Yiu-trained up-and-comer has built a solid record of three wins and two second placings from six starts so far and he was expected to make it back-to-back wins at this track and distance two weeks ago.
However, with Mother Nature wreaking havoc across Sha Tin recently, a rain-affected track dashed his chances as he never looked comfortable in the slop.Provided a good track at Sha Tin this week, MIGHTY STRIDE finds himself in a very winnable race. If he has come through last start well, a fourth career win is calling.
Elsewhere, three-year-old gelding HONG KONG HALL looks primed to land his first career win in the Class 4 1000m Handicap.
HONG KONG HALL is on his third career start and first-up off a 56-day break. Debuting in mid-March at this track and distance, the Charm Spirit gelding clearly needed the run as he felt the pinch late and faded lade into fifth place, before coming on well second-up and checking in runner-up after leading until the 100m over 1200m at Sha Tin.
Well prepared with two solid barrier trial wins for his return, HONG KONG HALL finds a nice race to resume in. With race experience on his side and with Zac Purton remaining in the saddle, the youngster ticks plenty of boxes.
