3 June Perak Racing Preview by Mark Lydeamore

RACE 1

HEARTS OF GOLD (1) is still a maiden after 13 starts but gets his chance to break through third up this campaign. The 5yo finished 2nd here behind subsequent winner, Sacred Galaxy over the mile trip three weeks ago. PURPLE RAIN LADY (3) races best on a moist surface but her record of six wins at 1600m keeps her under notice. INTROIT (2) was unsuited by the 1000m last start and was given a quiet trial during the week. GOLDEN EMPIRE (6) can improve on the minimum.

RACE 2

Looks a match between SUPER HERO (1) and GEORGETOWN (3) on recent form. A slight leaning to GEORGETOWN (3) on home turf as he backs up from his 0.75L 2nd in Penang last Saturday. SUPER HERO (1) will benefit from the claim and has maintained form since his 1100m KL victory on April 2. FAST AND SUPER (4) broke through for the first time in Class 4 grade last week and a successive win would not surprise.

RACE 3

This is not a very high standard contest but LIM’S PIPER (3) will strip fitter second up for the K Coetzee stable. The 8yo has not won for twelve months but is back to a winnable rating. BLUE EYED BOY (4) has been running over the sprint journeys recently and the slight rise to 1300m should see him improve. MY AIM (5) was a beaten favorite after stumbling out of the gates in Penang last Saturday but looks a chance with a clean getaway.  SOON YOU THINK (6) resumes from a bleeding attack and will be better off over more ground.

RACE 4

The 7yo grey, YES BOSSY (2) closed off well after settling last at the 400m before finishing 3rd over 1200m here on May 13. Stable mate HELLO MONDAY (3) has only scored once in 26 starts but this is not an overly strong line up. QUEEN FORCE (7) has been a steady improver in the past couple of months and can return to winning form for the first time since November 2019. NAPOLEON (5) has not placed in seven starts this year but may be one for the trifecta plays.

RACE 5

KING POWER (2) has not won for just over two years is ready to strike after finishing runner up at his past two outings. SUNTZU (6) is always a chance in this grade and appears well weighted on the minimum. SHARP DRESSED MAN (5) had excuses when the saddle slipped last start but he’s maintained solid form since his Class 5 win earlier in the year. ALWAYS D’GREAT (1) pulled up with a respiratory problem when resuming but should bounce back after a trial win here in good time on Tuesday.
