Can go close again. COSMIC RHYTHM (6) raced green on debut and sure to improve on that showing.

SECRET IDENTITY (14) has a wide draw to contend with but came on well from her debut effort in a feature to win as she liked last time out although the field was not that strong. KINGDOM OF GOLD (7) won well second time of asking while DOLCEZZA (4) is also likely to improve.

SHOEMAKER (10) gets first time blinkers and was not far back behind See It Again in the Daily News. Domeyer stays with the ride. WINCHESTER MANSION (5) was doing his best work late in the Greyville 1900 for a narrow second while LITIGATION (3) is better off at the weights and along with CAPE EAGLE (4) also has a winning chance.

HUMDINGER (10) took on a strong field from a wide draw last start. She is over her best trip and is seldom out of the money. BON VIVANT (8) has her third run after a break and is back over her optimum trip. Stable companion MAHARANEE (2) is showing signs of coming back to her best form after a spell in the doldrums. She was finishing off nicely last start and from a good draw must have a good chance on her best effort.

Race Summary: Summary: CHARLES DICKENS (4) gets a chance of revenge. AL MUTHANA (5) handed him his first defeat and there was only a neck between them in the Gr1 King’s Plate. Since then Charles Dickens has finished second to See It Again in the Gr1 SplashOut Cape Derby where he may have been found out by the 2000m trip and recently turned the tables on his rival in the Gr2 KZN Guineas. Al Muthana, last year’s winner when trained by Mike de Kock, has been a touch disappointing since his King’s Plate victory but was doing his best work late in the recent Gr2 Drill Hall Stakes and should strip at his peak. TRIP TO FORTUNE (3) down the field in the King’s Plate has since travelled to Gauteng to win the Gr1 Horse Chestnut Stakes and showed no ill effects from his trip to the Highveld beating Gimme A Prince and Al Muthana in the Drill Hall Stakes. COUSIN CASEY (1) has had to bow to Charles Dickens and See It Again in the three-year-old pecking order but from pole position draw he cannot be ignored lightly.

ACACIA’S BLOSSOM (6) has been trying further of late but her best form has been over this trip. She has a light weight and Keagan de Melo to help her home. ENSUING (10) got a four-point raise in the handicap for his last win but he has been consistent.

Race Summary: Summary: MASTER JOSH (1) comes with strong Cape form. Of concern is that he has not been out since January but he could prove to be a cut above this field. MAJESTIC REIGN (9) did not enjoy the blinkers last run. They have been removed and he should run an improved race. DOWN BY THE RIVER (7) had a tough draw to overcome at just his second start. He shows some promise. GIVE US A SMILE (8) has not been far back in two sprints and the extra furlong should suit. FUTURE OF ENERGY (2) may just have been short of a run last start and could prove the biggest threat with his 1.5kg allowance. There are some nicely bred first timers in the race so keep an eye on the betting.
