Race Preview

R1 – PRIX RIDGWAY – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Condition Race – Listed – Flat – EUR € 55.000

1. ALASHAR – Ultra-consistent colt with solid form and so should have a role to play. Warrants
utmost respect
2. GUET APENS – Not disgraced in finishing 4th in the Group III Prix Hocquart on his reappearance.
Likely improver
3. HORIZON DORE – Runner-up to Prix du Jockey Club 2nd Big Rock in a Group III last time. Sets
the standrad on that form
4. PRINCE DE PANAME – Was 4th behind Prix du Jockey Club winner Ace Impact in the Listed
Prix de Suresnes. Has obvious claims
5. FORTUNE – Capable, lightly raced colt who was unbeaten in two starts as a juvenile. Could get
into the picture
6. PONTY – Has shown signs of improvement in conditions races recently but has more to do here.
Outsider

Summary : Runner-up in a Group III won by Big Rock recently, HORIZON DORE (3) should
capitalize on the ease in grade to this Listed event and is taken to get the better of consistent
PRINCE DE PANAME (4) on these terms. ALASHAR (1) arrives in good form and is also likely to
get in on the action, which GUET APENS (2) could do too with improved fitness on his side after a
pleasing comeback outing.

SELECTIONS
HORIZON DORE (3) – PRINCE DE PANAME (4) – ALASHAR (1) – GUET APENS (2)

R2 – PRIX MELISANDE – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Condition Race – Listed – Flat – EUR € 55.000

1. ATHANASIA – Convincing winner over 1600m on debut and 1800m last time out. Has more to
come going 2000m
2. GARBO – Won her only start over 2000m when going this distance last time. Open to further
improvement
3. MISS CANTIK – Shared victory with EXCELLENT TRUTH (4) when preserving her unbeaten
record last time. Should be in the mix again
4. EXCELLENT TRUTH – Dead-heated with MISS CANTIK (3) at Saint-Cloud over 1600m recently.
Could show more this trip
5. ELZORA – Sparkling winner on debut but was somewhat disappointing when only 3rd in her last
start. Open to improvement
6. SCENIC – Consistent UK filly but is the only maiden in the lineup. Has it all to do in this
grade/company
7. LEFT SEA – Was far from disgraced in the Prix Saint-Alary (Gr.I) last time and sets the standard
here on that form
8. LA FILOMENA – Confirmed the promise of last year with 2 wins from as many starts this term.
Must be respected

Summary : A competitive Listed event for three-year-old fillies. Highest-rated LEFT SEA (7) was
deemed good enough to contest the Group I Prix Saint-Alary and was not disgraced on that
occasion, so gets the nod on the strength of that form and is taken to land the spoils at the expense
of sparkling debut winner ELZORA (5), who was somewhat disappointing when only 3rd at Chantilly
last time but is probably capable of better. MISS CANTIK (3), EXCELLENT TRUTH (4), LA
FILOMENA (8) and ATHANASIA (1) have won consecutive recent outings and are all dangerous
to dismiss in ther bids to complete the hat-trick. Good race!

SELECTIONS
LEFT SEA (7) – ELZORA (5) – MISS CANTIK (3) – EXCELLENT TRUTH (4)

R3 – PRIX VOLTERRA – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Condition Race – Listed – Flat – EUR € 55.000

1. KAMIYAH – Belatedly opened her account last time after finishing 2nd in three consecutive
outings. Will have more to give
2. TURN CARTWHEELS – Won only start as a juvenile and has been consistent this year.
Dangerous to dismiss after finishing 2nd in a Listed race last time
3. FANCY ME – Won the Group III Prix des Reservoirs and finished 6th in the Group I Poule d’Essai
des Pouliches. Sets the standard
4. AMERICAN SONJA – Finished 4th in an Irish Group III at Leopardstown last month and should
be competitive on that form
5. QUEEN SAO – Consistent throughout her two-year-old campaign but has failed to confirm that
promise this year and must reaffirm
6. PRIJA – Not without a chance given her form references but has more of a place chance than a
winning one
7. GRACE PERIOD – Showed promise as a juvenile last year and ought to improve after a muchneeded comeback outing (8th). Dark horse
8. SMALL OASIS – Reassuring 2nd in his last start and should be competitive here if confirming
that improvement

Summary : The only Group winner of the meeting, FANCY ME (3) will be a tough nut to crack here
having acquitted herself well in the Group I Poule d’Essai des Pouliches. Irish raider AMERICAN
SONJA (4) will, however, push her to the limit, with progressive KAMIYAH (1) also capable of
joining the fight after opening her account last time. After an improved last start in Ireland, SMALL
OASIS (8) completes the shortlist.

SELECTIONS
FANCY ME (3) – AMERICAN SONJA (4) – KAMIYAH (1) – SMALL OASIS (8)

R4 – PRIX RFM – PRIX DE LA PLACE VENDOME – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Divised Handicap – Class 2 – Flat – EUR € 53.000

1. INDIAN PACIFIC – Consistent for the most part and is capable of staking a claim here despute
his wide draw. Not one to take lightly
2. DOURIANN – Brilliantly opened his account after a string of 3rd-place finishes. Up 4kg but
capable of following up here
3. LAMENTO – Runner-up in the last edition of this Quinté+ and made a very encouraging
reappearance last month. Should have a role to play
4. AFTER THE RAIN – Has finished 5th in both outings after winning on her reappearance.
Unreliable but not incapable of having a say here
5. L’ANTHARIS – Holding his form and did not go unnotced when finishing 6th last time. More
needed this time but has drawn well, so is dangerous to dismiss
6. NEPALAIS – Acquitted himself very well (2nd) when reverting to turf in the Prix du Haras de
Jardy. Makes his first start at ParisLongchamp but ought to be competitive
7. CARAMELITO – Not disgraced (6th) over 1800m on his reappearance and will undoubtedly be
better suited to this distance. Will interest the lovers of outsiders
8. BEVAN – In good form and did not have to force his talent to win last time. Up 3,5kg but the
announced rains will greatly serve his interests
9. EAGLE ROSE – Finished 7th in a recent Listed race and has some interesting form references
to her name. Just an outsider on handicap debut
10. PROMETEO – Made no impression under 63kg when finishing 8th last time after two years of
absence. Should improve but is best watched for now
11. HUNTBA – Consistent performer in claiming races and ran well at Toulouse (4th) in his first
start for trainer Julian Resimont. Has more to do here
12. EL MANIFICO – Veteran of already 40 Quinté+ races. Hasn’t won since August 2020 but his
current rating could see him get into the picture here
13. LETTY’S MARVEL – Has already shone at this level and is better than his last two results
suggest, but his running style comes with its risks. Will interest lovers of outsiders

Summary : DOURIANN (2) has been consistent throughout his career, so wasn’t winning out of
turn last time over this track and trip, and has not yet revealed the extent of his talent. As such, it
could pay to follow his progress here and is taken to defy a 4kg penalty by getting the better of
LAMENTO (3), who was runner-up in this race last year. NEPALAIS (6), who is in full possession
of his means, and L’ANTHARIS (5) who did not go unnoticed when finishing 6th last time. BEVAN
(8) made a strong impression recently and will be suited by the forecast rain, so is also dangerous
to dismiss. EL MANIFICO (12) and LETTY’S MARVEL (13) are capable of getting into the picture
too under light weights. Good race!

SELECTIONS
DOURIANN (2) – LAMENTO (3) – NEPALAIS (6) – L’ANTHARIS (5)

R5 – PRIX PAUL DE MOUSSAC – 1400m (a7f) – TURF – Group 3 – Group – Flat – EUR € 80.000

1. GOOD GUESS – Won the Group III Prix Djebel (Gr.3) over 1400m, beating both BREIZH SKY
(2) and BELBEK (5) that day. Respected
2. BREIZH SKY – Consistent colt with solid form references. Finished 3rd in the Group I Poule
d’Essai des Poulains last time and should have a say again
3. CAWDOR – Runner-up in back-to-back outings after winning on debut and it’s likely his best is
yet to come. Dark horse
4. VALIMI – Finished 5th in the Poule d’Essai des Poulains (Gr.I) and is likely to be better suited to
this shorter trip. Winning chance
5. BELBEK – Won the group I Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère last year and finished 3rd on his comeback
in April. More to come
6. CAMBRONNE – Ultra-consistent last-start winner with solid form references. Has more of a place
chance than a winning one
7. HALF HALF – Runner-up twice and has won twice in four starts this year. More needed to be
competitive in this grade/company
8. OCEAN VISION – Finished 3rd on his reappearance before winning his last two starts.
Progressive colt, dangerous to dismiss
9. SHOWAY – Filly getting weight from her male rivals. Outclassed in a Group I last time but has
solid references, so can’t be discounted

Summary : VALIMI (4) finished a creditable 5th in the Group I Poule d’Essai des Poulains but will
appreciate this shorter trip and can take revenge on BREIZH SKY (2), who finished an excellent
3rd in the aforementioned French 2000 Guineas. BELBEK (5) has been absent since finishing 3rd
on his reappearance in April but possesses significant means and is capable of making his
presence felt. GOOD GUESS (1) completes the shortlist.

SELECTIONS
VALIMI (4) – BREIZH SKY (2) – BELBEK (5) – GOOD GUESS (1)

R6 – LA COUPE – FONDATION CLAUDE POMPIDOU – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Group 3 – Group – Flat – EUR € 80.000

1. MONTY – Consistent veteran with solid form references. Arrives in good order and should have
a role to play
2. WEST WIND BLOWS – Won the Group III Prix Prince d’Orange before finishing 3rd in the Group
II Prix Dollar. Excels at this track, so is the one to beat
3. HOOKING – Had his winning run ended when finishing 5th on his comeback recently. Should
have more to offer
4. CENTRICAL – Has won his last three starts, including both outi9ngs this year, so cannot be
discounted. Warrants respect
5. PRIDE OF AMERICA – Bounced back to form with a last-start victory but will need to eke out
some improvement to have a say here
6. MACHETE – Consistent colt for the most part and has been in good form this year. Could get
into the picture
7. PLESANT JANE – Consistent filly with solid form references. Wonn on her reappearance and
finished 4th last time, has claims here
8. LIFE IN MOTION – Three-time Listed race winner and finished 4th in a fairer sex Group II at
Newmarket last time. Will be involved

Summary : WEST WIND BLOWS (2) was gelded his last start in a Group II at Newmarket last
month and is taken to make a winning return to ParisLongchamp, a course which he particularly
appreciates. LIFE IN MOTION (8) and MONTY (1) have both the form and experience to fight for
victory, while progress is also expected of HOOKING (3) which puts him firmly into the picture too.

SELECTIONS
WEST WIND BLOWS (2) – LIFE IN MOTION (8) – MONTY (1) – HOOKING (3)
