Sunny given a fighting chance at Ipoh

Sunny Fighter is well placed to bounce back for a win at Ipoh on the weekend.

Five-year-old galloper SUNNY FIGHTER appears on target for a winning return in the Galah Panjang Handicap over 1200m at Ipoh on Saturday.

SUNNY FIGHTER has descended back to a career-low of 34 ratings points, and is coming off a couple of encouraging efforts, including a recent second-place finish behind subsequent winner Mysterious Captain at Selangor on May 21.

The gelding struck another wet track last start when placed fourth in Penang after receiving every chance in the run.

SUNNY FIGHTER has previously scored on the 1200m Ipoh Short Course and looks well weighted to break through for the first time this year.

Meanwhile, despite not winning in the past 11months, nine-year-old SECOND CHANCE appears well placed to bounce back in the Wau Handicap over 1600m.

SECOND CHANCE has filled a minor placing in three of his past six starts and has dropped back to the 20 point minimum rating.

The Kevin Coetzee-trained gelding is coming off an eye-catching performance in Penang two runs back when he closed off from a rearward position to finish runner up over 1300m.

SECOND CHANCE ran fifth behind the in-form King Of Glory at Selangor three weeks ago, but returning to home territory should prove beneficial.

With three of his six career wins recorded at the track and distance, the gelding looks well placed to break the drought this weekend.
