from a good yard and the booking of Mickael Barzalona suggests a bold show is expected.

looks good on paper and his dam was a winner at Class 1 level, he could be the main rival to the
probable favourite VEGAS (8). WINNING FORMULA (6) is another to watch closely in the betting
market as is LIKING (5) who is a son of City Light.
SELECTIONS

Vulnerable

these too good

involved at the business end
9. FURI DE LA HOUSSAY – Out of the frame in two runs so far, the latter over 1800m in late-May.
Others rate higher
Summary : After a good third in a Listed race last time START ME UP (3) looks like the best option
in this event, she should be difficult to beat. QUISISANA (5) could well be the fly in the ointment
after a good win on her only start to date at Compiegne earlier this month. ALMANZORA (2) is
unbeaten in two starts, she won nicely in a Class 2 race last time and can not be ruled out of this
event. VAUX LE VICOMTE (8) is also a winner on her only run to date over 1800m at Compiegne
late last month and warrants respect.
SELECTIONS

good

to be on the premises

the frame at attractive odds
16. ODIN NORMANDY – Nice 2nd at Compiegne over 2800m on June 2nd in a Class 3 handicap.
Nice weight and ought to play a lead role
Summary : GAIDAR (3) could be the answer to this very tricky handicap. He was a nice fourth over
2400m on his most recent outing in a Class 1 handicap and is the selection. UTAMARO (5) was
very narrowly ahead of GAIDAR (3) when they met in the handicap at Chantilly and poses the main
rival. SRIFANELOGREEN (6) is one for the each-way backers to look at after fluffing his lines last
time, he was a good third prior to that and is capable of a good run. ODIN NORMANDY (16) gets
in off a low weight and can not be discounted.
SELECTIONS
GAIDAR (3) – UTAMARO (5) – SRIFANELOGREEN (6) – ODIN NORMANDY (16)

In the mix

5. LANCILLOTTO – Has five unplaced runs so far, the latter over 1600m in June. Others make
more sense

make the frame
7. GALLANT DEED – Not beaten far when 3rd over 1800m on the last run on May 26th at
Compiegne. Player
8. COCKTAIL PRINCE – Bit off-key on the last run, but a good 2nd on debut over 2100m in early
April. Ought to have a say
Summary : Plenty to like about the debut of MAWHOB (1) when finishing second at Compiegne
earlier this month. He can go one better in this. GALLANT DEED (7) has plenty of experience
having had five runs so far, he looks the main rival after a narrow defeat when third at Compiegne
in a maiden in late May. COCKTAIL PRINCE (8) was a disappointment on his latest outing but if
reproducing his debut second, he can give Christophe Soumillon a good ride and make the frame.
ROI DE L’AIR (3) has a string of second-placed runs, he has place claims and he is likely to have
to wait for that first win.
SELECTIONS
MAWHOB (1) – GALLANT DEED (7) – COCKTAIL PRINCE (8) – ROI DE L’AIR (3)
R19 – GRAND PRIX DE COMPIEGNE – 5E ETAPE DU DEFI DU GALOP – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Condition Race – Listed – Flat – EUR € 60.000

preferred
5. NACIDO – 4th two runs back over 2200m in a Listed race at Dusseldorf in March. Might find a
few too smart
6. CHANCELLERY – Dis well when winning at Compiegne last time out over 1800m on June 2nd.
Has leading claims
7. GLAER – Has won the last two runs, both on the artificial surface, the latter over 2000m in lateMay. Live chance
Summary : In a well contested Listed race, BOLTHOLE (1) gets the tentative vote after a recent
win at Bordeaux Le Bouscat late in May over 1900m. The biggest danger could be GLAER (7) who
is looking for a hat-trick of wins after a nice win in a Class 1 race on the PSF last month, he has
won his last two races on all-weather surfaces but is just as effective on turf. DAWN INTELLO (2)
was beaten at odds on last time, but the winner got the run of the race and he is more than capable
of playing a lead role. CHANCELLERY (6) is improving and warrants respect.

to be in the shake-up

place
5. NUIT FAUVE – Ran 5th on the last run over 2200m at Orleans in late May. Others make more
sense

now

make her presence felt
17. MQSE DE MASCARILLE – Newcomer by No Nay Never, the dam won at the Listed level and
was Group placed. Nice profile and a bold show can be expected
Summary : CHILD OF THE MOON (7) has been running well and has a nice bit of experience, she
was a good second when last racing over 1800m on May 26th and looks ready to win. She has
the most to fear from ALSIMRYA (1) who ran a race full of promise when second on her only run
so far at Compiegne earlier this month. The nicely bred MQSE DE MASCARILLE (17) looks very
taking on paper and could well be useful, her dam was a smart performer who won in Pattern Class.
SMILA (16) showed enough on her only start to say she will win races, she might find a few too
smart in this but can make her presence felt.
