Last-start winner GOLDEN SPRINT appears on target for back-to-back victories when he steps out in the 1400m Class 4 event at Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

GOLDEN SPRINT was sent out favourite when second-up on June 11 and caught the eye with a fast-finishing second-place finish over 1100m. The five-year-old looked the winner a fair way from home when racing on pace before scoring by 0.75 lengths over 1250m a fortnight ago.

GOLDEN SPRINT has won twice in eight local starts and was successful third-up last campaign when breaking through for his first Malaysian win in October last year.

Alpha is a true Warrior

Four-year-old performer ALPHA WARRIOR will have a chance to atone for his last-start defeat when he goes around in the 1200m Class 4 contest at Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

ALPHA WARRIOR had scored once in ten Singapore starts prior to joining the Selangor stables of KC Tiang earlier this year. The gelding immediately displayed his potential in several trials and attracted plenty of market support, scoring narrowly at his local debut on May 28.

ALPHA WARRIOR led and was overhauled when finishing third over 1100m last start but can bounce back in a winnable race come Sunday.
