The 10-race card at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday (22 July) includes two Listed races as well as a pair of Grade 3 contests.

The WSB Irridescence Stakes for two-year-old fillies and WSB Langerman Futurity Trophy, open to all juveniles, run alongside two fillies-and-mares features, in the 1950m Final Fling Stakes and 1200m Olympic Duel Stakes,

Vaughan Marshall has, by his own high standards, had a relatively quiet season, but the Milnerton-based trainer remains a master with his young horses and can press home that advantage by saddling a hat-trick of juvenile winners in the first three races of the day.

Well-related Golden Grey was friendless in the market on debut but this flashy grey son of Danon Platina outran his big 40-1 odds by running on late to finish an eye-catching third over 1000m under Oswald Noach.

On that evidence, and with the benefit of experience under his belt, the step up to 1200m is likely to suit Marshall’s charge who looks good value to land the spoils in Race 1.

Stablemate Questioning should also build on the promise of his encouraging introduction to win Race 2, also over 1200m, under recently returned Bernard Fayd’Herbe.

Craig Zackey steered this well-bred Querari gelding, who was well-supported from 7-1 into odds of 3-1, to a fast-finishing second on debut in open company over the course and distance, and a subsequent nine-week break would’ve done Marshall’s inmate the world of good.

Against rivals of his own age with natural improvement expected, Questioning ought to open his account at the second attempt and complete a quick double for the yard.

Fayd’Herbe and Marshall team up again in Race 3 and will be confident of winning the race with Coastal Commander who has finished second in both starts over 1200m. Like his stablemate Questioning in the preceding event, Coastal Commander ought to have strengthened and improved in the nine weeks since his last outing and the step up to 1400m is also likely to eke out further progress.

Domeyer has enjoyed a red-letter campaign highlighted by Grade 1 successes aboard Charles Dickens and Trip Of Fortune. He continues to churn out the winners with regularity and is likely to add another three victories to his tally, beginning with Bereave in Race 4 over 1100m.

Adam Marcus charge won the Grade 2 Diadem Stakes over 1200m back in February but has had his colours lowered in both subsequent outings. He renews rivalry with last-start conqueror Silver Falcon on 1.5kg in Leg 1 of the day’s Pick 6 and is more than capable of turning the tables on his in-form rival with Domeyer retaining the ride.

Candice Bass-Robinson has a strong hand in the Listed Irridescence Stakes with two well-bred and impressive last-start winners, Beach Bomb and October Morn. Domeyer, however, partnered both fillies to victory last time out and has opted to stick with the latter so it could pay to trust his judgment and side with the Trippi youngster.

That jockey-trainer combination will be to the fore again in Race 9 when three-year-old gelding Lunch Money goes 1400m for the first time. This son of Rafeef has given the impression that he’ll have more to offer over this distance after close-up fast finishes over 1200m recently. So, with improvement expected over the extra 200m, it could pay to follow the progress of Lunch Money.

Justin Snaith – and his supporters – can look forward to a feature-race double on the day with versatile Kwinta’s Light likely to go well in the Listed Olympic Duel Stakes (Race 5) and exciting Trippi colt Hluhluwe expected to do likewise in the Grade 3 Langerman (Race 7) having won two of his last three starts.
