Newcomer ROMAN CHIEF looks primed to run a big race on debut this Sunday when he contests the $75,000 Restricted Maiden race over 1400m on turf.
A three-year-old gelding by the thriving sire Caravaggio, ROMAN CHIEF is well prepared with three trials for his debut. On each occasion, the Michael Clements-trained gelding showed a strong turn of foot and won easily, indicating he is a forward type with plenty of scope.
This week, ROMAN CHIEF finds a highly winnable race on debut as he is well placed in a below par Restricted Maiden field, where most of his rivals have not shown much thus far. From an ideal draw, he can prove hard to beat for champion jockey Manoel Nunes.
