Selangor Tunku Gold Cup winner, SAN ANDREAS looks a big chance of doubling up on his recent Group one success when he contests the 1400m G1 Penang Sprint Trophy this Sunday.
The odds were stacked against SAN ANDREAS in that memorable victory on May 28, where the gelding drew the outside gate (Barrier 16). The six-year-old settled last until the 400m before producing a sharp burst of acceleration to score at big odds.
SAN ANDREAS lost no admirers with his fast-finishing third in KL over 1500m a fortnight ago and with some of his more fancied opposition drawing deep, the AB Abdullah trained performer should provide the value selection in Sunday’s feature.
