Following three runs this preparation, New Zealand-bred performer ARC TRIUMPH will appreciate the drop back from Group company when he lines up in the 1200m Double Happiness Stakes at Ipoh on Sunday.
ARC TRIUMPH was far from disgraced in the G1 Penang Sprint Trophy over 1400m a fortnight ago, finishing 5.75 lengths into sixth place. The nine-year-old worked hard initially from barrier nine to find the lead before he was overhauled.
ARC TRIUMPH also led at his prior start in a Metro A contest but found the 1500m trip a fraction too far in KL on July 16. The gelding will be having his first run on the Ipoh circuit and his chances will be enhanced if a wet track prevails come Sunday.
