Summary : JORDANS (6) was pitched into a good Group 3 AQPS race on his last start, where he
ran a very good second beaten 0.75L. He has only had two runs so far and will improve a good
deal from that latest outing and will be hard to beat. JIMFA (2) has plenty of experience and has
been knocking at the door on her last three runs, she looks the most significant threat. JUSTUNE
STAR (1) also has plenty of race experience and has only once been out of the first three in eight
runs. She is the each-way option. JESPER (5) makes up the shortlist.

the frame
8. KINGDOM – 2nd two runs back over 2400m in late July at Rochefort-Sur-Loire. Ought to be
thereabouts
9. BREATH OF FIRE – Has several unplaced runs in better races of late, and last won over 2200m
in 2021. Best watched
Summary : HALIMI (3) is favoured in the weights and is more than capable in claiming races to
get the job done. He gets the vote ahead of SANCHO (2) who was not beaten very far when fifth
in a handicap on his latest run at Chantilly and ought to be involved at the business end. KINGDOM
(8) can not be overlooked. He won a Class 4 race three runs back by 3.5L and has been second
since that success. The 1900m last time was a bit on the sharp side when unplaced. TRICK OF
THE MIND (6) is usually on the premises in these type of races and merits consideration.

2. MUNROH – Fair 3rd last time in a Class 2 race at this track in mid-July. Looks progressive and
can feature
3. ALIA’S ROSE – Won her only run over 1400m at Chantilly last July by 6L. Looked useful and
rates a player if at peak fitness
4. HOXTON – Fair 2nd in a Class 2 race last time over 1600m on July 22nd at Vichy. Merits
consideration
5. GARBO – Unplaced in the last two runs in Listed races. Won before that over 2000m in May.
Others rate higher
6. GYPSY GOLD – Good effort when 2nd in a Class 2 race at this track over 1600m on July 15th.

7. THIOSSANE – 5th over 1400m at Saint-Cloud last time in late June in a Class 2 race. Needs
more to get involved
8. VAUX LE VICOMTE – Ran well when 3rd in a Class 1 race at Compiegne over 1800m on the
latest run. Live contender
9. GAIN IT – Not quite up to Listed Class last time, but a good 2nd at Lyon Parilly before that over
1600m in a Class 1 race in early June. Can feature
10. RISE AND SHINE – 6th in a Class 1 race at Lyon Parilly last time in early June. Unlikely to
trouble some of these
Summary : GYPSY GOLD (6) was a good second in a Class 2 race at this venue when last seen
in mid-July when narrowly beaten. She can go one better today. VAUX LE VICOMTE (8) rates a
strong contender. She ran really well in a Class 1 race at Compiegne last time. That was only her
second outing and with improvement from that she can make her presence felt. GAIN IT (9) will
find this more to her liking after an unplaced run in Listed Class last time. She is top-rated and can
not be overlooked. ALIA’S ROSE (3) was an impressive winner on her only run last year and
warrants respect on her return.

form and is best watched
Summary : Although allocated top weight LADY MAG (1) is the tentative selection in an openlooking handicap. MOKO (6) is the alternative after a recent win 14 days ago and arrives full of
confidence and can once again have a say in proceedings. SEMILLANTE (3) is one to look at from
an each-way perspective after a number of consistent runs on all her starts in 2023. She is
dangerous to leave out. AQUITAINE (5) is also very honest and does not know how to run a bad
race.

14. RIYAK – Decent 2nd over 1900m at Deauville 13 days ago on the last run. Can go one better
Summary : RIYAK (14) shaped well 13 days ago when a good second at Deauville. He gets in offbottom weight and can go one better today. ICATU (6) is relatively lightly raced and has plenty
more to come. A decent third over 1800m last time when beaten in a three-way photograph. He is
the main threat to the selection. AIGUIERE D’ARGENT (2) is one to include in all of the place bet
permutations. He has the added benefit of Christophe Soumillon on top and ought to be involved.
PEGASUS (1) enters calculations despite having top weight.

13. JASPERS FLAG – Three unplaced runs in 2023, the latter over 1900m 13 days ago. Hard to
recommend
14. DELIVER STORM – Has been unplaced on the last four runs, the latest over 1600m in late July.
Yet to win in 25 runs and others seem more likely
Summary : APOLLON (1) might be the best option after a good third at Vichy when last seen over
2000m 12 days ago. FIRST DREM (4) has had a break since a nice third over 1950m at
Chateaubriant in April. She should be fit for this run and looks like the chief threat. CIVNYAN (3)
arrives after success at Saint-Cloud over 2500m in late May and is among the leading candidates.
MAKENO (8) is a recent scorer at this track 10 days ago and is one to be considered from an eachway perspective.
