Race Preview

R1 – PRIX JACQUES CARTIER – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 16.000

1. JULIE ANAIS – Two very pleasing efforts to date and the step up in trip could suit this filly very
nicely. Place chance
2. EXIGENCE – Well beaten when 4th last time out and will need to show more on her two runs to
date. Others preferred
3. AMALYA – Finished 2nd last time out over 1600m and can build on that run to get involved in
proceedings. Each way claims
4. VIVE LA REINE – Finished 6th in a Listed race two starts back and was far from disgraced. If
she produces that level of form here, it should be too strong. One to beat
5. TANTOMILE – Ran 4th in her most recent outing and she seems to be stepping forward with
each run. Place chance
6. HIMYAN – Dam won twice from 2200m-2400m and she could show quite a bit on debut. Follow
the market
7. BEJAR – Dam was unraced and in her favor is that this isn’t the strongest of races so she
wouldn’t need to be to special to win. Market is our best guide
8. SOUL AND ROMANCE – Dam won once over 1900m which indicates that this individual could
potentially enjoy further in time. Keep a close eye on her
9. TEA LEAF – Dam won once over 2400m and this individual could need a few runs before
showing something positive. Others preferred
10. MARQUISE VERA – Dam won seven times from a lengthy career and this runner could be
green and need a couple runs to tighten up. Watch the market

Summary : VIVE LA REINE (4) sets the standard in this event and could make the most of a
race that lacks a bit of depth. HIMYAN (6) is a newcomer that is worth following closely as she
could be fairly useful. BEJAR (7) could be anything on debut and is definitely worth a market
check. SOUL AND ROMANCE (8) could prefer a touch further but could be of interest on debut.

SELECTIONS
VIVE LA REINE (4) – HIMYAN (6) – BEJAR (7) – SOUL AND ROMANCE (8)

R2 – PRIX FELIX GUIBERT – 1800m (a1 1/8m) – TURF – Handicap Claiming – Class 4 – Flat – EUR € 12.000

1. CANNELLO – Won over 2500m at his last start and would be in with obvious claims here but
the question mark is the drop in trip. Place chance
2. ON Y VA – Last won a race in early 2022 but has been steadily dropping in the ratings and
could put in a better performance. Place chance
3. COASTER – Not beaten far when finishing 5th last time out and based on that run could have a
say in this event. Each way chance
4. MARASTAR – Showed huge improvement when winning over the trip last time out and would
need to confirm that here. Each way claims
5. FAR MOUNTAIN EMERY – Won over 1950m two starts back but seems to be very
inconsistent and hard to predict but if she pitches up then she’ll be very competitve. Winning
chance
6. HEAVENLY VISION – Remains a maiden from 10 starts and has not produced anything
positive of late. Hard to fancy
7. LOMA – Won her only race in mid 2022 and on recent form it doesn’t seem likely that another
win is near. More required
8. ROXY MUSIC – Ran 10th last time out and is not in great form currently so needs to do more to
inspire confidence. Others preferred
9. FALMOUTH LIGHT – He needs to show more on recent form to get involved in proceedings.
Hard to fancy
10. JOURNEE MATINALE – Ran 17.5L behind the winner last time out when finishing in 4th and
huge improvement is needed. Hard to recommend

Summary : FAR MOUNTAIN EMERY (5) is inconsistent but very capable and therefore she is
hard to ignore on positive recent runs. COASTER (3) was fairly close up last time out and could
build on that effort to challenge. ON Y VA (2) has dropped in the ratings and could start showing
a bit more. CANNELLO (1) will be full of confidence after winning his last start and could
challenge if not finding the distance a bit sharp.

SELECTIONS
FAR MOUNTAIN EMERY (5) – COASTER (3) – ON Y VA (2) – CANNELLO (1)

R3 – PRIX DE LA SOCIETE DES COURSES DE PORNICHET – 1800m (a1 1/8m) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 17.000

1. AMERA – Has finished 4th in her two runs to date and drops in trip again after starting her
career of over further. Winning chance
2. DEL CIELO – Runner up in her two most recent outings and it could pay to follow her again in a
race where the form isn’t the strongest. Big runner
3. OLYMPIADE – Has put in two reasonably okay runs to date but nothing to get excited about.
Place chance
4. SILVER SEA – Has shown nothing to date in her first two starts and huge improvement in
required. Hard to recommend
5. LADY REGENT – Fairly consistent maiden performer who has run decent races off late and
could be on the premises once again. Place chance
6. EKTORIA – Well held on the form that she has produced to date and would need to make
significant improvement to be a threat. Others preferred
7. LIBYA – Two runs so far and nothing to write home about. This runner needs to start shaping
up. Hard to fancy
8. SAKURA GLITTERS – Dam won twice from 1200m-1600m which included a Listed event.
Worth a market check
9. VENTOSILLA – Dam won twice from 2300m-2400m and this newcomer could be one to keep
an eye on. Worth a market check
10. TRANQUILLITA – Dam was very smart winning three times from 2000m-3000m including a
Listed and Group 3 event. Follow the market
11. TOSCANE TEMPLE – Dam was unraced and this newcomer could potentially need a few
runs to tighten up. Others preferred

Summary : DEL CIELO (2) looks to be the right horse in this line up after finding one to good in
her last two efforts, it could finally be her day. AMERA (1) drops in trip and if finding it to her liking
then could run well. LADY REGENT (5) is slightly more exposed than a few of these but could be
a threat. TRANQUILLITA (10) is a newcomer that needs to be respected especially if the market
speaks volumes in her favor.

SELECTIONS
DEL CIELO (2) – AMERA (1) – LADY REGENT (5) – TRANQUILLITA (10)

R4 – PRIX GEORGES CREIS – 2500m (a1 9/16m) – TURF – Divised Handicap – Class 3 – Flat – EUR € 20.000

1. GET SET – 2nd last time out over shorter and now tries this trip for the very first time in his
career could just be a negative. Place chance
2. FLANQUEUR DE BRENU – Fairly useful sort that ran 4th over track and trip last time out and if
building on that should run well. Big runner
3. WEST MARTIN – Comes into this contest with decent form behind him and did win four starts
back over this trip. Each way chance
4. KENAHOPE – Finished 4th over 2200m last time out and could get involved on that run. Place
chance
5. RUE DE VOLGA – Inconsistent type that needs to find her form on a regular basis in order to
gain supporters. Others preferred
6. COEUR DAVIER – Low on confidence having last won in 2020 and its showing in her recent
performances. Hard to fancy
7. FLUTE EN SOL – In very good form heading into this and dropping back in trip shouldn’t be a
concern given she won over 2400m two starts back. Each way chance
8. NICE STROKE – 5th over 2400m last time out and now trying even further could be ideal for
this runner who is in search of their first win this year. Winning claims
9. INFANTE ALEXIA – Finished 3rd at her most recent run and could be a chance for the minor
positions here. Others preferred
10. SPATIAL MERIT – Two poor efforts from her last two runs and its hard to see that form
improving. Would be a shock winner

Summary : NICE STROKE (8) ran with a bit of credit last time out and can take a step forward in
this open looking contest. FLANQUEUR DE BRENU (2) wasn’t far off the action last time out and
could run a huge race against this lot. WEST MARTIN (3) has solid consistent form and should
have every chance to get involved. FLUTE EN SOL (7) brings the best form into this and should
deliver another positive performance.

SELECTIONS
NICE STROKE (8) – FLANQUEUR DE BRENU (2) – WEST MARTIN (3) – FLUTE EN SOL (7)

R5 – PRIX DU PRESIDENT GAEL DU HALGOUET – 2500m (a1 9/16m) – TURF – Divised Handicap – Class 4 – Flat – EUR € 16.000

1. PENNBLE – Ignore her last run and based on previous efforts could be one to sneak into a
minor position. Place chance
2. GOOD DES LANDES – Lightly raced sort that won her maiden last time out and has scope for
further improvement. Place chance
3. GOT FLIGHT – Starting to show better form once again and if able to confirm the recent
improvement she would be a player. Each way chance
4. SAGLYACAT – Put in a solid effort last time out when finishing 3rd over track and trip and
looks to end her win less streak. Big chance
5. COIGNY – Needs to start improving on what she has produced this year in order to keep
supporters interested. Hard to recommend
6. PREMIO – Wasn’t too far behind Saglyacat when running 6th two starts back and could match
that piece of form here. Winning chance
7. ADMIRALTY ARCH – Last won back in 2021 and recent form isn’t particularly inspiring. Needs
to do more to be competitve
8. UM ELNADIM – Comes into this contest on the back of a 5th place and is seldom far off them.
Should be in the shake up
9. PERLE DE VATI – Very little form to work with and it’s hard to see this runner being a serious
threat to any in this. Would be a shock winner

Summary : SAGLYACAT (4) looks to be nearing that next win and this race may represent the
ideal opportunity for her to be victorious. PREMIO (6) should be right on top of our selection and
is the immediate danger. UM ELNADIM (8) rarely runs a bad race and should mount a challenge
in this. GOT FLIGHT (3) has shown slight improvement in her form of late and could run into a
place if able to continue improving.

SELECTIONS
SAGLYACAT (4) – PREMIO (6) – UM ELNADIM (8) – GOT FLIGHT (3)

R6 – ARQANA SERIES DES POULICHES – 1400m (a7f) – TURF – Condition Race – Newcomers – Flat – EUR € 200.000

1. ROSE BLOOM – Well-related €320,000 buy, who is a half-sister to Group-placed See the
Rose, represents an in-form stable
2. ROMANCE MARINE – This US Navy Flag filly is worth keeping an eye on with Mickaël
Barzalona engaged to ride for Didier and Pauline Prod’homme
3. HEAR ME CALLING – Fabrice Vermeulen-trained Wootton Bassett filly to be partnered by
Eddy Hardouin on debut. Could get into the picture
4. VILLA DES ARTS – Alicja Karkosa-trained Galiway newcomer to be ridden on debut by
Thomas Trullier. Best watched for now
5. DIANARA – Goken debutante bought for €90,000 last year. One to note for trainer Kevin
Philippart de Foy with Aurélien Lemaitre up
6. LIBERTE – Well-bred Too Darn Hot filly acquired for €135,000. Alexis Pouchin booked for
trainer Yann Barberot
7. ATLANTIC WAYS – Yann Barberot-trained daughter of Ulysses to be ridden on debut by
Maxime Guyon. Will attract the lovers of outsiders
8. HONKY TONK WOMAN – This daughter of Roman Candle will be ridden on debut by Théo
Bachelot for trainer Mario Hofer. Longshot
9. CELESTIAL LADY – Lawman debutante trained by David Smaga who has engaged Cristian
Demuro to ride. Probably for another day
10. WALDLADY – Dream Ahead debutante trained by the skilled Andreas Suborics. One to
consider with Bauyrzhan Murzabayev engaged
11. HIT IT – Well-bred filly by proven sire Almanzor from a beautiful maternal line. Christophe
Soumillon rides for Victoria Head
12. XIOMARA – David Menuisier-trained debutante who was acquired for €100,000. Warrants
serious respect given the booking of Olivier Peslier

Summary : In this opening event for unraced two-year-olds sold/bought at last year’s Arqana
sale, it could pay to take a chance on ROSE BLOOM (1) making a winning debut for trainer
Nicolas Clément, who has stable in good form. XIOMARA (12), LIBERTE (6) and HIT IT (11)
have attractive pedigrees so could also play a role in the finish. DIANARA (5) is another with
claims as she represents a trainer/stable capable of readying newcomers to do well on debut.

SELECTIONS
ROSE BLOOM (1) – XIOMARA (12) – LIBERTE (6) – HIT IT (11)

R7 – CRITERIUM DU FONDS EUROPEEN DE L’ELEVAGE – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Condition Race – Restricted Listed – Flat – EUR € 130.000

1. ZABIARI – Highly regarded, and rightly so, having won on debut before finding only undefeated
Beauvatier too good last time. Follow
2. AQUILA VOLANTE – Consistent, hat-trick seeking colt who has improved to back-to-back
outings over 1400m recently. Could have more to give going 1600m
3. VEGAS – Won on debut over 1400m and before confirming that promise by finishing 3rd over
this trip last time. Has a lot more on his plate now
4. EMPLOY – Finished well in the Listed Prix des Jouvenceaux to fill the runners-up berth and
should have a say here on that form
5. FREVILLE – Runner-up in consecutive outings before opening her account when stepping up
in trip last time. Has more to come
6. LA BELLE POETE – Consistent filly with solid form references. Has improved to win her last
two starts and should have more to offer
7. SHIFFRIN – Has improved considerably to win consecutive starts in her last two outings. More
needed here but could make further progress
8. TULIPA CHOPE – Was 3rd, finished behind EMPLOY (4), in a Listed race at Vichy last time.
Should be competitive here on that evidence

Summary : An impressive winner on debut at ParisLongchamp, ZABIARI (1) confirmed that
promise by finishing 2nd to Beauvatier at Deauville and is capable of returning to winning ways
here. He will, however, have to improve and pull out all the stops to see off talented fillies
EMPLOY (4) and TULIPA CHOPE (8), who finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in a recent Listed
race at Vichy. FREVILLE (5) and LA BELLE POETE (6) are talented in their own right and can
make their presence felt too.

SELECTIONS
ZABIARI (1) – EMPLOY (4) – TULIPA CHOPE (8) – FREVILLE (5)
