Race Preview
R1 – PRIX DES CERFS – 2600m (a1 5/8m) – TURF – Condition Race – Flat – EUR € 20.000
1. KATORZ – Has made progress with each outing and finished a career-best 5th last time, so
could play a role in the finish. Place chance
2. KELLY BAIE – Improved from her unplaced debut to finish 3rd last time but needs to raise her
game again to be competitive in this grade/company
3. KRISTALENE – Well-beaten (9th) on debut but would have gained plenty from that experience
so ought to improve. Has only a place chance
4. KELISA DES OBEAUX – Has not gone unnoticed in either of her two starts and could get into
the picture if improving with the benefit of that experience under her belt
5. KOLMY – Improved with the benefit of an introductory outing (6th) to finish 2nd last time and
should have more to offer. From a successful family too, so looks the one to be with
6. KAGURA LIDO – Not disgraced in either outing, albeit at a lower level, over 2400m and
2450m, but needs to raise her game to get involved in this grade/company
7. KELRETOUR – Open to improvement after finishing 5th on debut but will need to take a big
step forward to be competitive in this grade/company
8. KELIG DELABARRIERE – Improved to finish an encouraging 2nd last time, although unlucky
not to fight for victory that day. Will have a say in the finish
9. KOUCA DE THAIX – Runner-up on debut at Les Sables d’Olonne, and likely to confirm that
promise with that experience under the belt. Keep safe
10. KIRSCH – Hugo Mérienne-trained Karaktar filly from an interesting family. Will be ridden on
debut by Jérôme Moutard
11. KOM TU VOUDRAS – Newcomer to note with Théo Bachelot engaged to ride Daniela Mele’s
Martinborough debutante. Keep safe
12. KONFIANCE ALLEN – Well-related newcomer with a beautiful maternal family. Entrusted to
Aurélien Lemaître on debut so not taken lightly
Summary : Improving KOLMY (5) is from a good family and, having finished 2nd behind a good
colt at Saint-Malo last month, should open her account here with any progress. However, KOUCA
DE THAIX (9), runner-up on debut, and KELIG DELABARRIERE (8), who improved to also finish
2nd last time, are not taken lightly and likely to pose a threat. Newcomer KOM TU VOUDRAS
(11) hails from the stable of Daniela Mele so cannot be discounted either.
SELECTIONS
KOLMY (5) – KOUCA DE THAIX (9) – KELIG DELABARRIERE (8) – KOM TU VOUDRAS (11)
R2 – PRIX DE LA TABLE DU GRAND MAITRE – 2600m (a1 5/8m) – TURF – Condition Race – Flat – EUR € 20.000
1. KALEO JIM – Runner-up in an AQPS group race at Vichy recently and sets the standard here
given his form and experience
2. KING DES GENIEVRES – Open to improvement with the benefit of an introductory outing (6th),
so could get into the picture. Outsider
3. KUZCO – Made no impression on debut so is hard to make a case for here. Could improve with
the experience but is best watched for now
4. KARAKASH – Clément Lecoeuvre rides this Karaktar newcomer, with an interesting maternal
line, for Donatien Sourdeau de Beauregard
5. KARAKTER SACRE – Karaktar gelding from a good family of jumpers. Debuts with Alexis
Pouchin in the irons for Philippe & Camille Peltier
6. KISSMAN – Karaktar gelding trained by the skillful Etienne d’Andigné, who has engaged Olivier
d’Andigné to ride. Beware
7. KISS WILL – François Nicolle-trained Tunis gelding to be ridden on debut by Marie Vélon with
a 1,5kg allowance. Watch out
8. KABYLE – Newcomer to note with Alexandre Roussel engaged to ride this Barastraight gelding
on debut for Dominique Bressou
9. KARCALIN – Laurent Viel-trained Castle Du Berlais newcomer who could run a forward race
on debut under Augustin Madamet given the stable’s good recent form
10. KANSAS DE GRUGY – Yoann Rousset rides this Buck’s Boum gelding on debut form ownertrainer Laurent Viel. For another day
11. KEEP ME UP – Well-bred Arakan gelding who is likely to go well on debut having been
supplemented and with Théo Bachelot booked to ride
Summary : Improving KALEO JIM (1) caught the eye, once the penny had dropped, by running
on well to finish 2nd in an AQPS Group III at Vichy last month and is likely to prove too good for
these rivals if confirming that form here. Among the eight newcomers, KEEP ME UP (11) is one
to watch closely, with Théo Bachelot engaged, though KARAKASH (4) is another who warrants
consideration on debut. Etienne d’Andigné’s KISSMAN (6) is not taken lightly either and could
surprise.
SELECTIONS
KALEO JIM (1) – KEEP ME UP (11) – KARAKASH (4) – KISSMAN (6)
R3 – PRIX DES CHARMILLES – 1200m (a6f) – TURF – Condition Race – Class 1 – Flat – EUR € 35.000
1. FALEH – Blotted his copybook last time over an inadequate distance and a higher level but is
better than effort suggests and ought to fare better here. Danger
2. WHISTLE AND FLUTE – Absent since April but needn’t be at his best to make a winning return
under these favourable conditions. Sets the standard
3. WHISPERING DREAM – Has won two of her last three starts on French soil, including her
most recent outing. Could continue her good momentum
4. WRONG COLOUR – Inconsistent filly although not incapable of getting into the picture after
finishing an improved 3rd last time. Dark horse
5. NIGHTCALL – Sparked big improvement to win her last start but will need to eke out more to
be competitive here. Outsider
6. DROLE DE DAME – Last-start winner and proven performer on straight courses. Arrives in
good form and physical condition, will be a factor
Summary : WHISTLE AND FLUTE (2) is head and shoulders clear of his rivals on ratings and,
on these weight terms, should have their measure if running anywhere close to his value. He has
been absent since April but will, undoubtedly, garner the most votes. He won’t have it all his own
way, though, against FALEH (1) who was not disgraced in a Listed race last time and has the
benefit of race fitness on his side. DROLE DE DAME (6) performs well on a straight course and
should have a role to play too. WHISPERING DREAM (3) makes most appeal of the remainder.
SELECTIONS
WHISTLE AND FLUTE (2) – FALEH (1) – DROLE DE DAME (6) – WHISPERING DREAM (3)
R4 – PRIX DES MELEZES – 1200m (a6f) – TURF – Handicap – Flat – EUR € 27.000
1. QUEEN FLO – Consistent filly with sound credentials. Concedes weight to all but could
improve with Australian blinders now fitted
2. LIKING – Winner at Senonnes two starts back then a creditable 6th in his first start in a
handicap last time. Dark horse
3. THE CAT’S – Experienced youngster with solid form references. Acquitted himself well in a
good field last time and that form has held up well
4. PICANES – Progressed to finish 2nd at Le Lion d’Angers last time and will be competitive if
confirming that improvement
5. BLUE RIBBON – Consistent for the most part and must not be written off just yet despite her
recent failure (9th). Could redeem herself here
6. LOYAL PRINCE – Seldom finishes far off the mark and could get into the picture here but has
no more than a place chance
7. CIOTOLA – Consistent performer in claiming races and is unlikely to be far off the mark here.
Could get into the picture
8. SENZA TE – Unreliable but seldom finishes far off the mark on a going day. Hard to trust but is
as hard to rule out
9. BAILEYS VITESSE – Has appeared rather limited in terms of ability, so his chances are limited
even at this level. Overlook
10. BAWE ISLAND – Consistent for the most part so should not be written off hastily despite a
recent failure (10th). Could redeem herself
Summary : THE CAT’S (3) won a claiming race on debut and has made steady progress ever
since, finishing 4th in consecutive starts recently at Deauville. His form/consistency and
experience will stand him in good stead here. QUEEN FLO (1), who will have headgear fitted this
time, is likely to fight for victory. On the evidence of her last start at Le Lion d’Angers, PICANES
(4) could also have a say in the finish. LIKING (2) should not be condemned too hastily following
a disappointing last start and remains capable of staking a claim.
SELECTIONS
THE CAT’S (3) – QUEEN FLO (1) – PICANES (4) – LIKING (2)
R5 – PRIX ROLAND FOUGEDOIRE – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Divised Handicap – Class 2 – Flat – EUR € 53.000
1. ALATHEA – Won a Quinté+ at Compiègne but was unable to confirm that form under a penalty
at Deauville recently. Ought to appreciate being back at this distance and will be equipped with
Australian blinders
2. ROMANTIC ROSE – Bounced back to form by winning two starts back but could do no better
than 7th of eight last time, albeit
on unsuitable ground. Has a lot to prove at this handicap value
3. INDIAN GOLD – Consistent for the most part but has shown her limits in conditions races
recently so is pitched into a handicap for the first time. Has some interesting form references but
needs to spark some improvement
4. ANOLINE – Won a handicap off a higher mark at the start of the year over 1900m but failed to
perform at that level since. Needs to bounce back
5. ENDLESS CHAIN – Returned from a lengthy layoff to outclass her opposition in a handicap at
Saint-Malo, earning a 4kg penalty. Should have a role to play
6. PRECIOSITE – Was deemed worthy of making her comeback in the Group III Prix de la Grotte
but has been unable to shine during her first outings in a handicap. Ought to fare better given this
drop in class against her own sex
7. VEGA OF SAINTS – Runner-up in her last start behind a rival who placed in a Group II
subsequently. Absent since that run in April but in a handicap with 1kg less, but is probably for
another day
8. AVERSA – Joined Nicolas Caullery at the end of July after a good start to her career in the
South-East. Well beaten in both starts for new connections but has dropped in the ratings as a
result, so could do better
9. NOTTINGHAM – Soundly beaten in previous Quinté+ events before bouncing back to form in
conditions races where she was, however, favourably treated. Back in a handicap off a mark
2,5kg less than before, so is not taken lighyl
10. FILLE DU ROI – Won two claiming races at a lower level before acquitting herself well
returned to the handicaps. Unfavourably drawn in a wide gate which will certainly complicate her
task
11. FASTER – Has commendable consistency at this level and runs well for Delphine Santiago.
Well positioned in the starting stalls and her competitiveness off this mark/rating is beyond doubt.
Respect
12. ABELIA – Enjoying a prodcutive 2023 and recently won a handicap race that earned her a
3kg penalty. Does not have the benefit of a rider’s 1,5kg allowance either and is unfavourably
drawn in gate No 14, so has it all to do
13. AL ULA – Has proved more effective over shorter distances, though did finish a surprising 3rd
when last in a handicap, against male opposition too. Back in her own sex now but will need
things to go her way here 14. BAILEYS MEMOIRE – Consistent sort with solid form references and lines up here in a
handicap off a mark 4kg lower than her last outing at this level and meets several re-opposing
rivals on better weight terms. Keep safe
15. ALVA – Showed above-average means as a two-year-old, running in good company as well
as beating Ottery (who was 3rd in Prix de Pomone ). Finished unplaced in both comeback races
but ought to do better dropped 2kg
16. IKEN – Ultra-consistent filly with sound form credentials, including a very good 2nd in a similar
event last time. Lines up here in good order and is well placed in gate No 4, so ought to have a
say
Summary : PRECIOSITE (6) was highly rated early in her career and this represents somewhat
of a drop in grade. She would’ve gained plenty from her two starts at this level and, with
Stéphane Pasquier engaged for the occasion, Gérard Augustin-Normand’s Dabirsim filly has a
good chance of doubling her tally by landing the spoils in this Quinte+ event. Consistent BAILEYS
MEMOIRE (14), after three comeback runs, is back at her best level and has also seen her rating
decrease over the course of those outings, so ought to have a say in the finish. ENDLESS CHAIN
(5) won her reappearance and is likely to be competitive too, despite her resultant 4kg penalty.
Both ALVA (15) and FASTER (11) have not been at their best recently but remain capable of
making their presence felt. IKEN (16), NOTTINGHAM (9) and ABELIA (12) complete the shortlist.
SELECTIONS
PRECIOSITE (6) – BAILEYS MEMOIRE (14) – ENDLESS CHAIN (5) – ALVA (15)
R6 – PRIX DES BOSQUETS – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 22.000
1. MORPHEWAN – Not disgraced when fourth last time out but is unreliable and needs to do
more than that to win this race
2. STYLE D’EMIRS – A good finisher on his debut (3rd) over 2400m. Drop in distance may not
suit but he deserves respect for that runa nd can contest the finish ocne again
3. ARCON – Consistent in Germany, he left a good impression during his debut on French soil
(3rd). Should do even better this time and can score
4. VALIDATOS – Fair first three runs this distance. Needs to do more to win this race but can
contest the finish
5. LIGHTNING BOLT – Disappointing last run. Did better in first two starts but will need to find a
few lengths to win this race
6. SEEDS OF CHANGE – Fourth, very close to ARCON (3) recently in Deauville, he should fight
out the finish once again
7. SYRAKUS – Only modest in his two starts so far. Capable of improvement but is probably best
watched this time
8. ALGAJUST – A three-year-old gelding by It’s Gino out of Falballas who is making his debut.
Watch the betting
Summary : Consistent ARCON (3) made a convincing debut on French soil and is a serious
candidate for victory with improvement expected. Consistent SEEDS OF CHANGE (6)
represents the Wertheimer brothers for the first time and could challenge. STYLE D’EMIRS (2)
left a good impression on debut and could have more to offer dropping to this distance.
VALIDATOS (4) has performed fairly to this point but may need to do a bit more to beat the
aforementioned rivals.
SELECTIONS
ARCON (3) – SEEDS OF CHANGE (6) – STYLE D’EMIRS (2) – VALIDATOS (4)
R7 – PRIX DES PINS LARICIO – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 22.000
1. CAELESTIS – A good finisher on August 30 in Compiègne over 1,800 meters, she will be more
comfortable over this distance and should make a bold bid
2. OLYMPIADE – Fair third on debut but has been disappointing in two runs since then. Capable
of earning some money
3. FIRYALI – Third behind CAELESTIS (1) on May 16, she has a nice burst of speed and is
capable of contesting the finish again
4. TRANQUIL ROSE – Runner-up in both starts on the PSF in the UK, she starts for Pantall
training and has been absent since April. Not out of it
5. CUSTARD TARTE – Not disgraced when seventh on debut last month. Likely to improve but
others are preferrred this time
6. NO CLOTHES – Showed some improvement when sixth last time out after being well beaten
on debut but others are preferred
7. A TA GUISE – Not disgraced when runner-up on debut but that was in January and she may
need this run returning from a break
8. TOSCANE TEMPLE – Did not show much when well beaten on debut last month. Capable of
improvement but others are much preferred
9. VRAIE STORM – Beaten by a good filly at Clairefontaine last month. Drops in distance but can
fight out the finish
10. ZAINZA – A three-year-old filly by Cokoriko out of Zainzana who is making her debut. Watch
the betting
Summary : After two runners-up finishes over 2000m, CAELESTIS (1) had to settle for only 5th
last time over a shorter distance but will be more comfortable going this trip so could bounce back
to score. FIRYALI (3), whom she had beaten by very little on 16 May at Saint-Cloud, is clearly in
with a winning chance too. VRAIE STORM (9) only found one better on debut but drops in
distance and could have more to offer. TRANQUIL ROSE (4) is back from a break but has shown
promise on the PSF in the UK.
SELECTIONS
CAELESTIS (1) – FIRYALI (3) – VRAIE STORM (9) – TRANQUIL ROSE (4)
R8 – PRIX GUY THIBAULT – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Divised Handicap – Class 3 – Flat – EUR € 27.000
1. KENOSHA – Very easy winner from start to finish on May 29 in Nort-sur-Erdre, she has been
absent since but can follow up if fit
2. ON THE EDGE – Only seventh in a claimer last time out. Was in better form before that and is
capable of earning some money
3. DIEPPE – Unreliable again this year and she appears better suited to a shorter distance than
this these days. Others are preferred
4. TIBERIA – Good second in mid-August at Le Touquet. Steps up in distance for handicap debut
but is quite capable of scoring again
5. JUST IN LOVE – She was unlucky last time in Deauville but it has been more than a year since
her last win. Might place
6. SUNY YINA – Clearly improving and is hat-trick seeking after some nice handicap wins. Carries
a 4.5kg penalty for latest win. Tough task this time
7. PRESA DIRETTA – Broke a long losing run when winning a claimer over this distance last time
out. This looks a tougher task and others are preferred
8. DZARINA – On a long losing streak but has shown improvement in handicaps lately and casn
contest the finish once again
9. HADYA – She showed tenacity before giving up in the last 150 meters on August 27. Tries a bit
further this time but could play a minor role
10. BLACK CESS – Has been in good form this year winning twice and she was not disgraced
when runner-up in a handicap last time out. Not out of it
11. ZELZALITA – Disappointing last two runs but may be better suited to this distance these days
and is capable of earning some minor money
12. SAMBA – Unreliable and has yet to win but she did run well when runner-up over this
distance last time out and can fight out the finish on handicap debut
Summary : Impressive at the end of May in Nort-sur-Erdre, KENOSHA (1) can confirm with
another in this open handicap. Runne-up at Royan in her first attempt at 1600m, SAMBA (12)
looks ideally placed under a light weight to get involved. Another three-year-old filly, TIBERIA (4)
is consistent and experienced so could prove better than rated in her first handicap. DZARINA
(8), who is in good shape but on a long losing streak, completes the shortlist.
SELECTIONS
KENOSHA (1) – SAMBA (12) – TIBERIA (4) – DZARINA (8)
R9 – PRIX KALYMNOS – 1200m (a6f) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 23.000
1. LAZYM – He has had two starts to date recording two 4th place finishes including one over
track and trip which saw him fairly close up. Each way chance
2. SANARYEN – He has produced two very uninspiring runs to date and it’s hard to see him
getting involved in this contest. Would be a surprise winner
3. YEUX NOISETTES – He finished 5th on debut over 1400m well held by his rivals and he needs
to take a significant step forward. Easy to pass by
4. MUCHAS GRACIAS – Arrives here in incredible form looking to reel of a hat-trick which looks
to be within his reach despite the drop in trip to 1200m. Massive runner
5. BELLE DE SABA – Dam won three times from 1200m – 1600m and this filly could do with a
few runs under the belt before shaping up. Others preferred
6. TOMAKAY – Dam won once over 1600m and this colt demands the utmost respect in the
market on debut. Follow the market
7. KISSY – Dam won once on the flat over 2100m and this filly could need the experience and
further before showing something positive. Others preferred
8. VITESSE – Dam was fairly useful winning four times from 950m – 1200m. This filly deserves
huge respect on debut and could be absolutely anything. Watch the market
Summary : MUCHAS GRACIAS (4) brings the best form into the race and rates the one to beat
as he looks for his fifth career win. TOMAKAY (6) get the services of a top jockey and could be
one to keep a very close eye on. VITESSE (8) is a runner that could be quite precocious and
bears close following on debut. LAZYM (1) can improve on what he has produced to date to get
involved for a minor position.
SELECTIONS

R10 – PRIX DU HARAS DES GRANGES – 1200m (a6f) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 23.000
1. MANGAKEN – Only modest in two starts so far. Capable of improvement but others are
preferred this time
2. PERLI CHOPE – Modest first two runs at this course. Capable of improvement but others are
preferred this time
3. DELIA CHOPE – Fair form without winning so far. Not disgraced when third over this distance
last time out and can fight out the finish
4. ACHILL ISLAND – Not disgraced when fifth on debut last month over 1000m. Likely to improve
and could contest the finish
5. GOOD FEELIN – Improving and is coming off two runner-up runs over this distance. She can
go one better this time
6. ECLAIRE LA VIE – Only win so far was a claimer at this course. Not disgraced when sixth in a
better race than this last time out. Not out of it
7. GARMI – Fair fourth last time out and was runner-up in a claimer before that. Needs to do more
to win this race. Might play a minor role
Summary : GOOD FEELIN (5) is improving and is coming off two good runner-up runs including
over this course and distance. She ooks the right one for this race. DELIA CHOPE (3) was not far
behind rival GOOD FEELIN (5) last time out but may struggle to get that close this time around.
ECLAIRE LA VIE (6) has a claiming win to her name but she was not disgraced when sixth last
time out and has a winning chance. ACHILL ISLAND (4) can improve on a fair debut to contest the finish.
SELECTIONS

R11 – PRIX DE VAISON-LA-ROMAINE – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Claiming – Flat – EUR € 15.000
1. MYTHICAL WORLD – A filly that is at the top of her game, recording three wins from her last
four runs and looks to have a big chance of adding to that tally. Leading claims
2. TIYMARA – Two solid performances in France so far. She won over 1900m and now stepping
up in trip should suit her down to the ground. Big runner
3. KAPETANIOS – He finished 7th over track and trip last time out but that run makes very little
appeal in this contest. Easy to look elsewhere
4. SPIRIT GREY – Well tried maiden that hasn’t been able to put it all together from eighteen
attempts and lacks appeal here. Hard to fancy
5. LIDISBARN – He has bits and pieces of form including a 3rd place finish in his penultimate
start which could see him get involved. Place chance
6. LE TROPIC – He hasn’t been at his best of late and will need to improve but could do just that
now placed into a weaker race. Each way chance
7. ALMOST HEAVEN – Remains a maiden from eleven outings and she will need to improve on
her current form to challenge. Others are more persuasive
Summary : MYTHICAL WORLD (1) is thriving at present and looks set to run another big race.
She should get all the favors and is the one to beat. TIYMARA (2) has done a lot right in her two
appearances so far and is on the right path to do well once again. LE TROPIC (6) drops a
division and could find himself bouncing back to his best form. LIDISBARN (5) is best of the rest
but will need to show a bit more in order to win.

lengths to win this race
2. COUNT PARIS – Not disgraced in both starts so far. Tries this longer distance but he is clearly
not out of it
3. KAMAKURA ONE – Runner-up in two of her three starts so far. Step up in distance should suit
and she can go one better this time
4. PADDY WHITE HEART – Seventh on debut over 1600m at this course last month. Likely to
improve but others are preferred
5. SWING CITY – Not disgraced when sixth on debut. Likely to like this distance and can contest
the finish this time

can fight out the finish

Watch the betting
9. DAKOVKA – A two-year-old filly by Fas out of Kiwiana who is making her debut. Watch the

Summary : KAMAKURA ONE (3) has been a bit unlucky not to win a race so far and deserves
the utmost respect for her runner-up runs. This distance should suit and she can go one better.
NICE DREAM (6) has not been disgraced in her two starts and should be right there at the finish.
SWING CITY (5) is likely to improve off her debut and could like this distance. COUNT PARIS (2)
has run well twice and can contest the finish.
