For the second time this year, jockey T. Krisna found himself in trouble with the stewards after failing to ride to their satisfaction during race 6 on Saturday, September 16, 2023.
The charge pertains to a violation of MRA (Malaysian Racing Association) Rule 44(10), specifically for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the stewards. Over the final 300 meters of the race, Krisna did not ride the horse “SMART STAR” with sufficient vigor and determination.
Krisna was suspended from participating in races for a period of three months, effective from Sunday, September 24, 2023, to Saturday, December 23, 2023, inclusive. On the previous Thursday, Krisna exercised his right to appeal against the decision and the penalty imposed on him. Subsequently, he applied for a stay of the sentence, which was granted by the panel of stewards.
The appeal will be scheduled for a later date.
Earlier this year, Krisna was found guilty of the same charge for his handling of Captain Singapore in race 1 on Saturday, March 23, resulting in a two-month suspension.
