Vincent Ho cops 10-meeting ban

Hong Kong stewards slammed jockey Vincent Ho with a 10-meeting suspension on Wednesday night at Happy Valley, after he ‘failed to ride his mount out all the way to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the stewards’.

Ho dead-heated for first in the Class 3 Handicap over 1200m (race 5) aboard the Caspar Fownes-trained Capital Delight, but under Rule 100 (2), which states that “every jockey shall ride his mount out approaching the end of the race and all the way to the end of the race”, stewards found Ho in breach of the rule after he put his whip away and sat up a stride or so before the line.

Ho will be out of action from October 18 to November 20. He will participate in next Sunday’s Group Two Sha Tin Trophy (1,600m) card before his suspension starts, causing him to miss the Group Two Premier Bowl (1,200m) and the Group Three Sa Sa Ladies’ Purse (1,800m).
