Course C4 will be in operation for the nine race card of racing at Selangor Turf Club this Sunday with the rail out 4m and the cutaway commencing at approximately the 350m point.
Talented 7yo, GAMESTONKS (2) should continue his ascendency through the grades as he aims for the winning hat trick in the 1250m Metro A contest (Race 5). With an impressive statistic of 3 wins from 3 starts at the track/distance, his abundance of early speed will place him in good stead and will prove hard to run down again. However, GAMESTONKS (2) will be meeting a couple of progressive types coming off some encouraging performances in Group one company. KONG FU PANDA (7), placed in the G1 Penang Sprint Trophy in July, appears well weighted after the apprentice claim and will settle off an expected genuine pace. The 5yo possesses a sharp turn of speed and a win will not surprise. SINCERELY (5) finished 5th in two group races this year and drops back in journey following his Selangor Gold Cup run last month. SINCERELY (5) has been competitive at this level and he did lower the colours of KONG FU PANDA (7) over 1500m in mid July. STREETS OF FIRE (3) is a mare with plenty of ability and is coming off an eye catching trial here Tuesday week ago. The 8yo has not raced since her unplaced effort in the G1 Tunku Gold Cup back in May and she usually takes a couple of runs to strike peak fitness. Of the others GINGERELLA (1) should improve second up while RESOLUTE (10) has not won since November last year but drops 4kg from his most recent performance.
Race 5 Selections: (2) Gamestonks (7) Kong Fu Panda (5) Sincerely (3) Streets Of Fire
The 1600m Stayers Stakes “B” (Race 7) also headlines the Sunday program where consistent performer KHAN PEGASUS (7), a two time winner over the mile at Selangor, returns to his favourite journey. Coming off a last start 3rd behind subsequent winner Xena three weeks ago, KHAN PEGASUS (7) will be ridden by apprentice M Lukman, who was successful aboard the 6yo on August 6. PERFECT (1) has also been a model of consistency and is now with the Lawson Moy camp. Stable apprentice I Fikri is riding in good form with a winning double here last Saturday and PERFECT (1) should benefit with the 3kg claim. It will be an impressive training effort by KC Tiang if promising galloper GOLDEN SPRINT (4) can score first up over the mile. The 6yo is yet to win beyond 1400m but the horse does possess a staying pedigree and will be aiming for the winning hat trick following successive victories in July. SHOW HAND (5) is racing well without winning and was runner up to KHAN PEGASUS (7) over this track/trip two months ago. CH FORTUNE (6) was heavily supported to finish just outside the placings when resuming over 1400m on August 27. The 8yo has scored three times when produced second up and is a three time winner at the track and distance.
