GAMESTONKS returned to top form at Selangor on Sunday, showcasing his brilliance in a nearly record-breaking performance at the Metro A set-weight event over 1250m.

Having maintained an undefeated streak in four races last year, the Showcasing gelding experienced his first defeat last January, leading to a six-month hiatus. Unfortunately, this break caused him to miss the Tunku Gold Cup (1200m) in May, where he could have competed against the country’s finest sprinters.

Upon his return, GAMESTONKS checked in third in his first race back in July and has since made an impressive comeback, securing a hat-trick of victories. Under the skilled guidance of jockey Clyde Leck, GAMESTONKS seized control from the start and maintained his lead, ultimately winning by a margin of one-and-three-quarter lengths.

GAMESTONKS completed the 1250m distance in 1 minute 12.51 seconds, falling just short of the course record set by AWESOME STORM last year by a mere 0.11 seconds.

“The horse ran to expectations,” said Clyde. “The last time he ran, he had beaten most of them. He will definitely be one of the top sprinters in Kuala Lumpur. We just have to give him more time to continue racing and hopefully he will win a Cup soon.”

“Wow, it was impressive,” said trainer Charles Leck. “For him to back up and win three in-a-row is something. It looks like he is heading for bigger things.”
