Race Preview

R1 – PRIX DE LA VIERGE DE LORETTE – 1200m (a6f) – TURF – Divised Handicap – Flat – EUR € 53.000

1. CHIRIMIRI – Has remained consistent after gelding and won the reference race last month over
course and distance. Has claims
2. O TRASNO – Acquitted himself competitively (5th) and no longer has anything to prove himself
at this level. Keep safe
3. OZAN – Run his best races between 1300m and 1500m but has enough speed to shine in a
sprint. Not taken lightly
4. TORPEN – Three-time Quinté+ winner who has taken a liking to the straight 1200m. Has little
margin off his current mark but remains capable
5. LIVE – Claimed by Vaclav Luka following his victory on 5 August and has acquitted himself (5th)
well for his new connections since. Dark horse
6. SASSY RASCAL – Finished unplaced in the reference race last month and has nothing to show
for her starts in Quinté+ races on grass. Others preferred
7. DROIT DE PAROLE – Has caught the eye on several occasions since joining Mathieu Boutin
back in August. Has already proven competitive at this level and should make his presence felt
8. HOLLYHOCK – Has not run over such a short distance but his competitiveness at value 38 is
confirmed. Place chance
9. ISMAEL PAINT – Enjoyed a productive summer but looked less effective over 1000m at Vichy
last time out. Has no more than a place chance
10. FURIOSO – Noted twice this summer but was unable to benefit from favorable conditions at
Dieppe in August, finishing unplaced (11th). Has regained freshness but prefers a softer track
11. SIMONS KING – Inconsistent and has never run over a distance less than 1600m. Absent since
14 June, so will also lack rhythm ahead of this reappearance
12. KHAN – Continues to distinguish himself at this level and thrives on good ground. Ought to play
a role in the finish
13. BACCHILIDE – Absent since 29 June and has shown his limits at this level. Has already won
after a break but will probably have difficulty distinguishing himself in this grade/company
14. WOFF – Unplaced although not unnoticed in his last two outings, both of which were at this
level. Could get into the picture
15. BABA SIM – No longer has to prove himself at this level but has left his supporters wanting
more in his last two outings. Upset potential                                                                16. SIYOUANGEL – Ran a much better race than her ranking suggests in a similar event last month.
Capable of fighting for victory

Summary : SIYOUANGEL (16) held her own remarkably well in a sprint at this level (6th) last time
and from starting stall No 2, on ground she enjoys, could be worth siding with at attractive odds.
Runner-up in the reference event last month, KHAN (12) is also capable of fighting for victory along
with O TRASNO (2), who is proven at this level. CHIRIMIRI (1), winner of the aforementioned race
of reference, ought to remain competitive despite a 4kg penalty. OZAN (3), although unexposed
over this distance, has enough speed to be effective over it and cannot be discounted either.
TORPEN (4), winner of the Grand Handicap des Sprinters this summer, DOIT DE PAROLE (7),
who has often caught the eye of late, as well as FURIOSO (10), who boasts a useful turn of foot,
complete the selection.

SELECTIONS
SIYOUANGEL (16) – KHAN (12) – O TRASNO (2) – CHIRIMIRI (1)

R2 – PRIX DE CANOUVERT – 1500m (a7 1/2f) – ALL WEATHER – Condition Race – Flat – EUR € 34.000

1. CLAVUS – Was not winning out of turn last time after finishing 2nd in consecutive outings. Ought
to be competitive
2. TALENTUOSO – Impressive winner on debut and should improve with the benefit of that
experience. The extension of the distance should also serve his interests
3. CLIFFS OF MOHER – Last-start winner who has improved with every outing. Has more to do
here but will have more to offer
4. SUPERCOOLED – Quickened well to go from last to first when winning on debut, so is obviously
talented. Will have more to offer
5. ATLAST – Runner-up over 1600m on debut to a promising sort and, as the only maiden in the
race, receives weight from all rivals. Keep safe

Summary : Despite the small number of starters, this 1500m two-year-old event features several
promising colts with a bright future. None more so than Andre Fabre-trained debut winner
SUPERCOOLED (4) who was impressive in quickening clear of his rivals to win first time out, doing
so in the manner of a smart sort, so it could pay to follow his progress. Fellow first-start scorer is
highly rated TALENTUOSO (2) and is open to any amount of improvement too, so could well fight
for victory in his bid to remain unbeaten. As the only runner in the race not to have won, ATLAST
(5) gets weight from all of his rivals and did reveal quality when finishing 2nd on debut, so ought to
be competitive. Improving last-start winner CLAVUS (1) and CLIFFS OF MOHER (3) are not
without a chance either.

SELECTIONS
SUPERCOOLED (4) – TALENTUOSO (2) – ATLAST (5) – CLAVUS (1)

R3 – PRIX DE L’ALLEE BRULETTE – 1900m (a1 3/16m) – ALL WEATHER – Handicap – Flat – EUR € 13.000

1. ASHDEL – Finished 4th on this same course last week and has already shown sufficient means
to get into the picture
2. STIRLING – Resurgent son of Frankel who lines up here in good form and physical condition.
Finished 3rd here recently and will be a factor again
3. MIXED MIND – Unreliable but not incapable of getting into the picture judged on his best
references. Hard to trust but is as hard to rule out
4. ISHRAQ – Inconsistent but not incapable. Finished 5th at Deauville this summer and would have
a chance here on that form
5. ON Y VA – Did not go unnoticed last time despite finishing 8th and has already won on this
course. Capable of having a say
6. ALWAYS VIV – Seldom finishes far off the mark and could get into the picture here but has no
more than a place chance on his reappearance
7. GOLFING STAR – Struggling to regain his form or spark the improvement needed to be
competitive here, so unlikely to trouble the judge
8. SA SAL – Has struggled for form/consistency in his last two outings and is unlikely to trouble the
judge here
9. CREAM ICE – Fought for success for a long time before finishing 2nd at Angers last time. Won
her only outing at this track though so could go one better here
10. ZANOTCHKA – Has looked distinctly ordinary for some time now, so her chances are limited
even at this level. Ignore
11. JANISA BERE – Showed her form recently with a reassuring 2nd at Le Mans and ought to play
a role here on that form

Summary : CREAM ICE (9) came out 2nd best in a long drawn-out fight for success at Angers last
time but, having already won at this venue, is taken to get the better of consistent STIRLING (2),
who needs only to repeat his last two performances to mount a serious challenge. Already a winner
on this course, ON Y VA (5) is capable of staking a claim too along with ASHDEL (1), who finished
4th here recently.

SELECTIONS
CREAM ICE (9) – STIRLING (2) – ON Y VA (5) – ASHDEL (1)

R4 – PRIX DU JARDIN ANGLAIS – 1200m (a6f) – TURF – Condition Race – Flat – EUR € 30.000

1. AMOUAGE – Has shown little to write home about and is hard to make a case for here so can
be ruled out. Others are preferred
2. BROTHERS OF LILY’S – Has held his own in stronger races/fields and has both the form and
experience to fight for victory. Keep safe
3. FERRARI FEVER – Finished 2nd over a somewhat inadequate trip last time but will be better
suited to 1200m. Should be competitive
4. EXPERT ADVICE – Runner-up in both starts to rivals of better quality than she meets here.
Ought to improve so should go one better
5. SALALAH – Has shown improved form recently, albeit in claiming races, and should continue
her momentum. Has more to do though
6. EGIATEGIA – Was beaten by a good colt when improving to finish 2nd last time. Will be a factor
if making further progress
7. DULINI – Entitled to improve with the benefit of experience, having finished 8th on debut. For
another day perhaps
8. RADHARANI – Well-bred filly, a half-sister to Almanzor, who finished 3rd on debut and should
improve with that experience. Respect
9. LEGACY – Christophe Soumillon rides this Lope De Vega colt on debut for the Alessandro &
Giuseppe Botti stable. Beware
10. TAZARA – Acquired for almost €100,000 at a yearling sale last fall, this newcomer is bred to
be precocious. Not taken lightly
11. MISS CHOO – Andrew Hollinshead-trained Jimmy Two Times newcomer to be ridden on debut
by Augustin Madamet. One to note
12. PERICALA POINT – Tristan Baron rides this Jonathan Leroy-trained debutante by The Turning
Point. Best watched for now

Summary : Runner-up in her two starts, both of which were on this straight course, EXPERT
ADVICE (4) ought to open her account here. She is taken to get the better of BROTHERS OF
LILY’S (2) who has acquitted himself well in good races/company. EGIATEGIA (6) improved to
finish 2nd at this venue last time and, with further progress expected expected, should join that
fight. Likely improver RADHARANI (8) and newcomer TAZARA (10) are others to take note of.

SELECTIONS
EXPERT ADVICE (4) – BROTHERS OF LILY’S (2) – EGIATEGIA (6) – RADHARANI (8)

R5 – PRIX DE LA CROIX D’ANLEU – 1500m (a7 1/2f) – ALL WEATHER – Condition Race – Flat – EUR € 34.000

1. VERMELHO – Comfortably held back in 4th last time out and could find a few too strong here
but is one for the minor spot. Place chance
2. ROSE ACADEMY – Won her maiden with a bit in hand last time out and she would have taken
a great deal of confidence from that. Can follow up
3. DANCE SIOUX – Finished 4th over 1600m last time out in a fairly competitive event and could
get the job done here over a suitable trip. Strong claims
4. DYPTIQUE – Ran a pleasing race straight out the maidens and now that she tries further, it could
be ideal. Must inclusion
5. KOSLOVKA – Made improvement when finishing 5th last time out but will need to show a lot
more to be a threat here. Others preferred

Summary : DANCE SIOUX (3) sets the standard in a small field and should fight this out as she
takes on slightly weaker company. ROSE ACADEMY (2) was a fluent winner of her maiden and
she could have more to come. DYPTIQUE (4) could be a decent alternative to the top two as she
is open to any amount of improvement now trying further. VERMELHO (1) has her work cut out
and could place at best.

SELECTIONS
DANCE SIOUX (3) – ROSE ACADEMY (2) – DYPTIQUE (4) – VERMELHO (1)

R6 – PRIX D’INDROLLES – 1500m (a7 1/2f) – ALL WEATHER – Condition Race – Flat – EUR € 35.000

1. APAX – Represents solid form and can easily get involved in a race of this nature as he is battle
hardened unlike the rest. Each way chance
2. WILLIAM TELL – Ran a very nice race over 1600m last time out and on the evidence of that, he
looks to have more to come. Winning chance
3. IT’S CHICO TIME – First start in France for this gelding who relocates from Spain and will need
to make vast improvement to get earn a place. Would be a surprise winner
4. GAMESTOP – This colt has been tested at quite a high level and has equipped himself with a lot
of credit barring his last start at Listed level. Include in all bets
5. NASCENT – This filly took a significant step forward when winning her maiden with ease and
she is open to any amount of improvement up in class. Big runner
6. KARELIA – Not the most consistent around and she will need to improve on her latest effort if
she is to get involved. Others preferred

Summary : WILLIAM TELL (2) should appreciate meeting a slightly weaker field and could be the
one that they all have to set their sights on. NASCENT (5) is an up and coming individual that could
be anything on handicap debut and needs to be given serious respect. GAMESTOP (4) has the
ability and could easily account for this field on his best form. APAX (1) could be some decent value
in a small field.

SELECTIONS
WILLIAM TELL (2) – NASCENT (5) – GAMESTOP (4) – APAX (1)
