Laffon-Parias. Not taken lightly
10. THE FIRST DANCE – Well-related Dariyan filly, niece of the excellent Lope de Vega, to make
note of. Cristian Demuro rides for Fabrice Chappet

Summary : A tricky opening event reserved for unraced two-year-old fillies. Christophe Ferland
has his stable in good order and his hot streak could well continue with Golden Horn debutante
CORNELIENNE (8) under Maxime Guyon. She gets the nod ahead of well-bred DAME QUANT
(5) and DERREYAH (1), representatives of the leading Andre Fabre and Francis-Henri Graffard
stables respectively. Frankel filly JALNAR (2) is another to watch closely on debut.

SELECTIONS
CORNELIENNE (8) – DAME QUANT (5) – DERREYAH (1) – JALNAR (2)

R2 – PRIX DE BELLEVILLE – 1800m (a1 1/8m) – TURF – Condition Race – Flat – EUR € 50.000

1. MAP OF STARS – Well-bred debutante, the product of the mating of Sea the Stars and Bateel,
a four-time Group winner. Keep safe
2. JESS LIVERMORE – Was a €150,000 purchase in Deauville last summer and represents
Christophe Ferland who has been enjoying a purple patch with his juveniles
3. LESSARD – Almanzor colt who, with Tony Piccone engaged to ride for trainer Anastasia
Wattel, will attract lovers of outsiders
4. VAL DE SEINE – Le Havre gelding, fetched €70,000 during the fall of 2022. Clément
Lecoeuvre rides for trainer Henri-François Devin
5. DARING PRINCE – Well-related Zarak colt from an established Aga Khan family, this colt is the
nephew of Prix du Jockey Club winner Darsi. One to watch
6. MONDO MAN – Pia and Joakim Brandt-trained Mondialiste colt to be ridden on debut by
Cristian Demuro. Not taken lightly
7. ALGOT – Guillaume Trolley de Prevaux rides this Study of Man colt on debut for trainer Tim

Stéphane Pasquier. One to note
9. GAMESTARS – Andre Fabre-trained well-related Sea The Stars colt who is the half-brother to
Gamestop. Must be respected
10. INTERNAUTE – Sea The Stars filly out of the illustrious Solemia, winner of the Prix de l’Arc de
Triomphe (Gr.1). Makes obvious appeal

Summary : As is the case in the preceding event, Christophe Ferland’s good form with his twoyear-olds could continue with well-bred JESS LIVERMORE (2) given the nod ahead of
GAMESTARS (9), who represents the powerful André Fabre stable. MAP OF STARS (1), the
product of a magnificent mating, is bred to be useful so could also fight for victory. INTERNAUTE
(10) is a daughter of Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Solemia so will be of particular interest too.

SELECTIONS
JESS LIVERMORE (2) – GAMESTARS (9) – MAP OF STARS (1) – INTERNAUTE (10)

R3 – PRIX DE BOTZARIS – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Divised Handicap – Flat – EUR € 53.000

1. KATOUCHA – Listed-race winner who made a convincing debut (4th) at Quinte+ level in the
Prix Carrus at this track. Has a role to play
2. ZAUR – Won his first four starts on French soil before finishing unplaced in a Listed race at
Craon. PLAIN BEAU (3) and DUKE OF CONKER (7) are weighted to reverse the form on these
terms
3. PLAIN BEAU – Prolific last-start winner in claiming races and lines up here at an interesting
handicap value. Keep safe
4. HAVOC – Went from Fabian Weissmeier to Stefano Pecoraro between his last two starts and
did not run badly on his reappearance. Upset potential
5. AMI SOLEDAD – Won two handicaps in his last three starts, since joining Sascha Smrczek,
but runs here off a career-high mark and is more effective on PSF
6. VA S’Y MIX – Has placed four times in seven Quinté+ outings. but is high enough in the
weights at value 37. Ought to remain competitive nonetheless
7. DUKE OF CONKER – Has nothing to show from six starts at this level and would undoubtedly
have preferred a much softer track, but retains sufficient means and Christophe Soumillon is
engaged – beware
8. THROUGH THE MIST – Finished a good 5th in her last start at this level in July and has
regained freshness following a 10-week absence since her last-start 4th. Should have a role to
play
9. GAYLOR SENORA – Supplemented to participate in this event and has recently proven his
competitiveness off his current mark. Confirmed at ParisLongchamp but unexposed over this
distance
10. LIGHT WAKEUP – Won twice in July but has struggled since having raised in the
weights/ratings. This 2000m trip also stretches his stamina, so he’d do well to play a minor role
11. DAIQUIRI DREAM – Was a creditable 3rd in a conditions race last month over this distance
and has the means to distinguish herself in the handicaps at this value (35). Did win her only start
at ParisLongchamp
12. DUKE’S SPIRIT – Swept aside his opposition at Lyon-Parilly last month when fitted with
blinkers for the time. Up 3,5kg for that win his limitations with the headgear on are unknown
13. EL MANIFICO – Experienced horse competing in his 43rd Quinté+ and lines up here in full
possession of his means. WIll be a factor
14. YES ZARA – Left Christophe Ferland to join Carina Fey and is probably better than her most
recent 5th in a quality Class 2 event suggests. Watch for now
15. PHILAMINTE – Finished unplaced (12th) in a handicap against her contemporaries and faces
a tall order here against battle-hardened older rivals. Outsider

Summary : Veteran EL MANIFICO (13) won a similar event over this course and distance back
in June and, having struggled in the two starts off a 3kg higher mark thereafter, has recaptured
his form off his current mark in consecutive outings at this track recently. Ideally positioned in the
starting stalls with Cristian Demuro again engaged to ride, it could pay to side with him ahead of
consistent mare THROUGH THE MIST (8), who has sufficient means to win a race of this nature.
VA S’Y MIX (6) is proving hard to win with but has maintained a good level of form and
consistency in handicaps. KATOUCHA (1), who finished a commendable 4th in her first start at
this level last time is capable of fighting for victory.

SELECTIONS
EL MANIFICO (13) – THROUGH THE MIST (8) – VA S’Y MIX (6) – KATOUCHA (1)

R4 – PRIX DU CONSEIL DE PARIS – 2200m (a1 3/8m) – TURF – GROUPE II – Groupe – Flat – EUR € 130.000

1. JACK DARCY – Consistent for the most part and boasts sound form references/credentials.
Ought to make his presence felt
2. MONTY – Seldom finishes far off the mark and could get into the picture here but has no more
than a place chance
3. TRUE TESTAMENT – Lightly raced and consistent Siyouni colt who has twice placed 3rd in as
many attempts at Group III level. Place chance
4. GOOD FORTUNE – Well-traveled Swedish horse who has remained consistent for the most
part but will need to a career-best to have a say here
5. IRESINE – Proven top-class performer who thrives at ParisLongchamp. Would also appreciate
the arrival of any rains
6. MAX VEGA – Unreliable but seldom finishes far off the mark on a going day. Hard to trust but
is as hard to rule out
7. JUNKO – Absent since winning the Group III Prix de Reux on 5 August but has already shown
sufficient means to be competitive here
8. ZARAKEM – Was acquired €500,000 at the Arc sales having won five consecutive outings. Will
have to raise his game in this grade/company
9. MARQUISAT – Unexposed Zarak gelding who is undefeated in three outings and looks to have
a touch of class about him. Keep safe

Summary : High-class IRESINE (5) sets the standard here and is taken to stamp his authority on
this Group II contest before a potential raid on Japan in a few weeks. Undefeated MARQUISAT
(9) will need to raise his game now stepping into Group company but has lots of room for
improvement and could have a bright future at this level. He could pose more of a threat than
stablemate JUNKO (7) who also has the means to stake a claim in the finish. ZARAKEM (8),
purchased recently for €500,000, is capable of running well too for new connections.

SELECTIONS
IRESINE (5) – MARQUISAT (9) – JUNKO (7) – ZARAKEM (8)

R5 – PRIX CASIMIR DELAMARRE – FONDS EUROPEEN DE L’ELEVAGE – 1800m (a1 1/8m) – TURF – Condition Race – Flat – EUR € 52.000

1. MODAARA – Consistent and lightly raced Dubawi filly who finished 4th in a Listed race at
Chester last month and should have more to offer
2. PERLE ROUGE – Finished a commendable 4th in her only visit to ParisLongchamp in August.
Could get into the picture
3. ADELAISE – Finished 4th on the occasion of her first start on French soil. Could improve to
play a role in the finish
4. MADEMOISELLE ROSE – Consistent at a lower level and confirmed the improvement of her
previous starts by opening her account last time. Has more to do
5. DANNSA FLORA – Should not be condemned too quickly for her failure at Clairefontaine last
time, having shown sufficient means prior to that. Upset potential
6. ATAKAMA – Consistent filly with sound form references, including a recent 4th on her return
when she may have achieved better. Dark horse
7. START ME UP – Consistent for the most part and cannot be written off just yet despite failing in
a Listed race at La Test-de-Buch in July. Absent since butis presented here having regained
freshness
8. DANCING GODDESS – Started her career with Charlie Appleby and made an impressive
winning debut on French soil for Henri-Alex Pantall. Keep safe
9. MISS CANTIK – Won her first two starts but lost her unbeaten record when pitched into a
Listed race in June. Has been absent since, one to watch
10. AUTUMN STARLIGHT – Finished an eye-catching 2nd on her return from a break and is a
serious candidate for success here on the evidence of that display
11. NASELLA – Finished 3rd in a German Listed race back in July and has regained freshness
since. Ought to be competitive

Summary : AUTUMN STARLIGHT (10) caught the eye with an excellent finishing burst on her
return to action last month and, while she has yet to spark at ParisLongchamp, has a great
opportunity to shine here on the evidence of her most recent outing (2nd). DANCING GODDESS
(8) made a convincing (winning) start on French soil and is likely to fight for victory along with
NASELLA (11), who finished 3rd in a German Listed race this summer. British filly MODAARA (1)
and consistent PERLE ROUGE (2) complete the shortlist.

SELECTIONS
AUTUMN STARLIGHT (10) – DANCING GODDESS (8) – NASELLA (11) – MODAARA (1)
