The high grade race for Saturday’s meeting at Selangor Turf Club will be the 1400m Class 3 contest (Race 6) and features one of the country’s more progressive performers in former Kiwi ANSU (5), which is coming off successive victories. The 5yo broke his local duck with a win in a Max Two Stakes race before taking the step up to Class 3 where he led throughout to score convincingly over 1400m. ANSU (5) failed to fire in two outings during his first preparation locally and has rapidly improved in four starts this campaign as the winning hat trick beckons for the son of Press Statement. STRONG N BEST (1) was successful the last time he appeared in a Class 3 race back in April 2022. It was in Kranji over the mile and the 7yo will be primed following three starts in the country. Following a hiatus of just over a year away from the race track, EMPEROR TAIZONG (2) is racing in good form despite being a beaten favourite at his past two runs. The 7yo has never missed a place in four starts in Class 3 and is a three time winner over the 1400m trip. FLYING DURUMI (4) displayed a return to form last Sunday at big odds in a Supreme B contest and strikes a slightly easier lineup on the quick backup.
Race 6 Selections: 5, 1, 2, 4
LUPIN (4) and LIM’S BETTEREADY (6) filled the quinella at their last meeting on September 30 and the pair are set for a rematch in the 1500m Class 4A event (Race 4). The margin was a neck and despite LUPIN (4) having the better record in Class 4 races, LIM’S BETTEREADY (6) has the capacity of reversing the result in his quest to strike a blow in Class 4 company for the first time. BLEU MARINE (2) was unplaced over 1200m in Ipoh recently but will be suited stepping up to 1500m back on home turf. CAVALLA COURT (3) trialled well during the week and is expected to improve while PACIFIC EMPIRE (1) goes up 3.5kg after the claim following his 1300m win here two weeks ago.
Race 4 Selections: 6, 2, 4, 3
