France Form Sheet – 26th October
Race Preview
R1 – PRIX DU CHENE DU COUP DE FOUDRE – 1900m (a1 3/16m) – ALL WEATHER – Divised Handicap – Flat – EUR € 55.000
1. I’M A BELIEVER – Consistent performer in this category and belatedly opened his account at
Quinte+ level with a last-start success. Up 3,5kg for that win but cannot be underestimated
2. BUBBLE SIGN – Consistent filly, has never finished worse than 3rd and recently just proved
herself at this value under a 3,5kg penalty. Should once again play a role in the finish
3. DEL CIELO – Camelot filly with sound form references. Beat Bay d’Argent, albeit in receipt of
3,5kg, last time and that rival boasts a rating higher than any of the runners in this field. Will be a
factor here
4. LOFSONGUR ISLANDE – Was soundly beaten in her first start at this level and finished last.
Has been dropped slightly in the weights/ratings but others make more appeal
5. PANDIA SELENE – Last-start winner at a lower level so has it all to do under a 2,5kg penalty in
her first start on this surface
6. RECOLETTY – Has shown her limits at this level but is confirmed on this surface so is not
incapable of getting into the picture. Outsider
7. INDIAN GOLD – Consistent for the most part and, although showing her limits in conditions
races, did run well enough on handicap debut to suggest she could have a say here. Dark horse
8. JOLI CORBEAU – Progressive filly at the top of her game after back-to-back recent wins, the
last of which was on PSF, and is not incapable of defying a resultant 2,5kg penalty to stake a claim
in the finish
9. GALLANT DEED – Made an excellent debut in this category (2nd) and did have excuses for only
finishing 11th next time. Was outclassed in a Class 2 event last time but has legitimate claims back
in a handicap
10. SIMANCAS – Won at Châteaubriant in the summer and held her own in a quality Class 2 event
before making a respectable debut at Quinté+ level. Open to further progress and likely to play a
leading role
11. COCO DU HAUT – Has displayed commendable consistency in recent months, though has
shown her limits in the provinces. Was not disgraced in either of her two Quinté+ outings, but has
only a place chance
12. CHIAREGGIO – Did not go unnoticed last time when running on from a long way back to finish
6th. Has already proven his competitiveness at this level but is more effective on soft turf
13. ANOLINE – Won a handicap early this year off a higher mark but has not been as effective
since. Should do better off her current back over the distance and on the surface of her last success
14. DSCHINGIS GRACE – Confirmed on PSF but more effective over longer distances. Was
soundly beaten in a handicap last time and has not been seen since (June). Others preferred 15. MORPHEWAN – Made a winning handicap debut, beating Axelrod and Dazzle At Dawn, both
of whom have won since. Up 2,5kg as a result but should fight for victory once more
16. BRANDYWINE – Could do no better than 6th on her handicap debut, with the help of her rider’s
allowance. Has a tough task here from the widest starting stall
Summary : SIMANCAS (10), despite finishing in 9th position, was far from disgraced in her first
Quinte+ outing (just her fourth start) and she could have more to offer on this surface, so it is well
worth following her progress under Christophe Soumillon who has won this event 10 times already.
DEL CIELO (3) has kept good company and acquitted herself well in the process. She makes her
handicap debut off a competitive mark so ought to fight for victory along with progressive last-start
winner MORPHEWAN (15). Inconsistent GALLANT DEED (9) is not devoid of resources either and
is also capable of staking a claim in the finish if bouncing back to his better form. BUBBLE SIGN
(2) lines up in tremendous form and should make her presence felt too. JOLI CORBEAU (8), after
consecutive victories recently, is on the up and not incapable of playing a role in the outcome either.
ANOLINE (13), over the distance and on the surface of her last success, and consistent INDIAN
GOLD (7), who ran well in her first outing at this level, complete the shortlist.
SELECTIONS
SIMANCAS (10) – DEL CIELO (3) – MORPHEWAN (15) – GALLANT DEED (9)
R2 – PRIX DE LA CHAPELLE SAINT-PIERRE – 1500m (a7 1/2f) – ALL WEATHER – Condition Race – Flat – EUR € 22.000
1. ALIJAN MOON – Inconsistent but is likely to fare better over this distance and on this surface,
so is not one to be underestimated
2. CASE MONEY – Showed promising early signs by finishing 5th on debut 4th at his next start,
before his recent failure (8th). Needs to reaffrim but has scope to do so
3. BIG DRIFT – Consistent sort with the form and experience to be competitive. Runner-up two
starts back but has more of a place chance here than a winning one
4. SHORT FINAL – Has finished 2nd in to of his last four starts, including his most recent outing.
Has the form and experience to get a look in here
5. SADIA – Consistent filly with sound references, including a respectable 4th at Saint-Cloud last
time. Will be a factor
6. A COUNTACH – The second of of two Andreas Suborics runners, this filly has improved with
each start and was a good 2nd last time out. Not taken lightly
7. PROPHETIE – Not seen since finishing an excellent 2nd Clairefontaine in August but she has
already revealed sufficient means to win a race of this nature. One to beat
8. SOCIAL DISTANCE – Siyouni gelding from the stable of Pia and Joakim Brandt, who are usually
formidable in these types of races. One to note
9. FINDON ROSE – Sioux Nation filly trained by Jean-Vincent Toux, who has engaged Benjamin
Marie to ride this debutante
Summary : PROPHETIE (7) has, in finishing 3rd and 2nd in her last two respective outings,
revealed sufficient means to win a race of this nature, even against the male rivals. She gets the
nod to open her account at the expense of ALIJAN MOON (1), who ought to play a leading role
over a distance that is more to his liking. SADIA (5) and A COUNTACH (6) are others with the form
and experience to stake a claim in the finish.
SELECTIONS
PROPHETIE (7) – ALIJAN MOON (1) – SADIA (5) – A COUNTACH (6)
R3 – PRIX DE LA COUR DES PRINCES – 1600m (a1m) – ALL WEATHER – Condition Race – Flat – EUR € 28.000
1. ENDS OF THE EARTH – Confirmed the improvement of his penultimate start by winning last
time and his experience is going to stand him in good stead here. Will be a factor
2. A CANNES – Finished on 3rd debut and built on that promise to win his next start. Probably
prefers further but does have a place chance in his first start on PSF
3. KERNO QUATZ – Absent since June but did win his only start on this surface at Marseille-Vivaux
over 1500m. Not taken lightly
4. NASCENT – Confirmed the promise of her debut 3rd by winning her next start and ran well in a
strong field last time (4th). Warrants serious respect having been supplemented for this race
5. ESHIYA – Debut winner who confirmed that promise by finishing 2nd to a smart prospect at
Compiègne next/last time out. Winning chance
6. SOLAIRE – Useful filly with a wealth of experience, including references in much stronger
races/company. Has not been since May, so is best watched for now
Summary : A competitive race for a field of this size. ESHIYA (5) may lack experience but she has
already revealed her quality, by finishing 2nd after a winning debut. She ought to improve with
racing so is taken to get the better of NASCENT (4), who fits a very similar profile and was, notably,
supplemented for this event. Last-start winner ENDS OF THE EARTH (1) concedes 1,5kg to those
fillies but should have a role to play as his experience will stand him in good stead.
SELECTIONS
ESHIYA (5) – NASCENT (4) – ENDS OF THE EARTH (1) – A CANNES (2)
R4 – PRIX DE L’ENCLOS DES KANGOUROUS – 1300m (a6 1/2f) – ALL WEATHER – Handicap – Flat – EUR € 27.000
1. BATESCA – A filly with early speed, so she should enjoy this short course and her rider’s 2,5kg
allowance is likely to serve her interests too. Twice 3rd in her last three starts, so cannot be
underestimated
2. GOLD O’BOY – Consistent colt with sound references over a number of distances. Shoulders
top-weight 57,5kg but is one of the leading lights here
3. SABROSO – Game frontrunning type who, with Christophe Soumillon engaged to ride, could be
rewarded for his consistency. The one to side with
4. ISLAND FANTASY – Capable filly, runner-up on debut before finishing 5th in consecutive
subsequent outings. Was unlucky not to have finished closer last time and should have a role to
play here
5. RECONNECT – Has distinguished herself in the claiming category, winning last time and finishing
2nd twice at that level. Has more to do here but could get a look in nonetheless
6. SALALAH – Another to have distinguished herself in claiming races, winning and finishing 3rd
in two starts at that level. Has more to do here
7. MR KODIAC – The first of André Fabre’s two runners. Unplaced in all three starts to date but did
show signs of improvement last time (5th) and will be refitted with headgear, so is to keep an eye
on
8. TANIS – Bounced back to finish a reassuring 3rd last time but will need to raise her game
considerably to confirm that form/improvement in this lineup
9. STORMYGO – Runner-up on debut at Saint-Cloud but has seriously disappointed since, finishing
unplaced in all four subsequent outings. Needs to reaffirm
10. LISIMBA – Did not go unnoticed on debut (6th) but has regressed in both starts since (7th and
8th). Could well redeem herself here with headgear fitted for the first time
11. TAHINI – Has been somewhat disappointing on turf (unplaced twice) but did finish 2nd in his
only start on this surface, albeit in a claiming race. Dark horse
Summary : A proven frontrunner, with Christophe Soumillon engaged to ride here, consistent
SABROSO (3) is likely to attract the majority of the votes. He finished 2nd last time and is good
value to go one better at the expense of ISLAND FANTASY (4), who finished 5th at Sanit-Cloud
recently but was unlucky not to have achieved better. LISIMBA (10), who runs for André Fabre,
could unlock improvement with headgear fitted for the first time so is one to take note of, as are
consistent sorts GOLD O’BOY (2) and BATESCA (1).
SELECTIONS
SABROSO (3) – ISLAND FANTASY (4) – LISIMBA (10) – GOLD O’BOY (2)
R5 – PRIX DE LA FORET DE COYE – 3200m (a2m) – ALL WEATHER – Divised Handicap – Flat – EUR € 21.000
1. DROVKA – Current form is very poor and she needs a complete turnaround to start being
competitive again which doesn’t seem likely here. Would be a shock winner
2. MAGURO – No show in recent outings and will need to try extract some sort of form trying the
marathon trip for the first time. Hard to fancy
3. COIGNY – Recent efforts don’t particularly stand out but she has some decent form to her name
and could find her feet again over further. Include in the play
4. DREAM AGAIN – Last start is best ignored as it was all wrong, judging him on his previous form
he will be a strong contender for top honors having won three starts back. Go close
5. GRAND LEON – Dropping in the ratings and now looks to be on a workable mark which could
aid his chances in showing improvement. Upset potential
6. APRIL STEP – Eleven start maiden that isn’t the most reliable type but can pop up and make his
presence felt. Place chance at best
7. KENOR – Consistent sort that is knocking loudly on the door for his first victory this season and
he looks poised for a big effort following a runner up birth. Winning chance
8. GO FOR IT – Well tried maiden that has proven she can stay having finished 2nd over 3000m
four starts back so could get involved. Place chance
9. PUR HASARD – Eighteen start maiden that hasn’t been able to put it all together and has serious
question marks over this trip. Others inspire more confidence
10. MORNING SPIRIT – This gelding ran a cracker last time out with a light weight when finishing
2nd and could be ideally set up for a good run. Place chance
11. PROELIA – Ran a fair race back in 7th spot last time out despite finishing closer to last than
first and could be one for the top four players. Outside place chance at best
12. MOUSSON D’EVAILLE – No show from twelve starts barring a 3rd placed effort a few runs
back which came unexpectedly. Others more persuasive
13. FIVE BY FIVE – Last won a race in 2020 and his form is moderate which doesn’t bode well for
his chances in a race where he will need a lot to go right. Would be a surprise winner
14. ANIMA ERAT – Sixteen start maiden that represents weak form and gets the cheekpieces
applied for this outing which will need to have a positive effect. More needed
15. SICKYL PAPA – Last won a race in 2019 and it’s clear to see that this individual is low on
confidence and would need the race to go his way. More needed
Summary : DREAM AGAIN (4) arrives in a good space and should be able to continue taking the
right steps forward in order to win again. KENOR (7) is getting closer with each start and looks to
be live wire over a suitable trip. GO FOR IT (8) has had her fair share of chances but has credentials
that many of these don’t so is a likely place getter. MORNING SPIRIT (10) has more weight to
shoulder for this start but could confirm his latest effort.
SELECTIONS
DREAM AGAIN (4) – KENOR (7) – GO FOR IT (8) – MORNING SPIRIT (10)
R6 – PRIX DE LA FORET DE PONTARME – 3200m (a2m) – ALL WEATHER – Divised Handicap – Flat – EUR € 23.000
1. BLACK HAWK – Last start winner over 2700m but that was against a weaker line up and he will
need to do it the tough way here with top weight. Others inspire more confidence
2. NEED YOU TONIGHT – Bounced back to winning ways last time out over this trip and if she can
confirm that, she’ll be a threat. Include in the play
3. LA BARILLETTE – This has by far been her best year in her career having already won four
times and is running well at present. Each way chance
4. NIGHTDANCE MAN – Ran a very encouraging race over 3100m last time out and with Mickael
Barzalona taking over in the irons, it could be the difference. Big runner
5. BLACKJAC DU HOULEY – Arrives in fair form and should be there or thereabouts once again
over a suitable trip. Place chance
6. NEROKAS – Last won a race in 2021 and on recent form it is hard to see that changing but on
a lower mark, he could earn. Place chance at best
7. GARIGLIANO – Ran a cracking race three starts back when finishing 2nd but has failed to
produce a similar effort. More needed
8. SAINT NICOLAS – Bounced back to form with a 3rd placed effort last time out but will need to
confirm that it was no fluke. Consistency required
9. DREAM IN NORMANDY – Won four starts back over 2500m but hasn’t lived up to that level of
form in his three subsequent appearances. Others are more persuasive
10. ISHRAQ – Back to winning ways last time out against weaker but with his confidence up, he
could perhaps outrun his odds. Outside place chance
11. OSER – Current form is uninspiring and she will need a lot to go her way in order to improve
over a trip that isn’t favorable. Others preferred
12. DELSHEER – He ran a solid race over 2500m last time out and looks to be ready to tackle
these type of trips now as an older horse. Strong claims
13. LE GARDOLOT – Arrives in consistent form following two 3rd placed finishes in his last recent
starts and will be very effective. Should run well
14. JANAJKA – Two starts this year have been poor and could likely need a couple more runs to
be at peak fitness. Hard to fancy
15. DARIYANGEL – Fifteen start maiden that has shown very little to date and would need a
complete form reversal to be competitive. Would be a shock winner
16. DANCE THE BLUES – His form this year hasn’t been anything to write home about and needs
to show more to challenge. Unlikely winner
Summary : NIGHTDANCE MAN (4) has a top jockey engaged for this outing and it could be the
key to him breaking his duck this year. DELSHEER (12) hasn’t been at his best over these trips in
the past but is more mature now so it could be ideal. LE GARDOLOT (13) should run a forward
race and will be there at the finish. NEED YOU TONIGHT (2) should get involved if confirming her
win.
