Race Preview
R1 – PRIX NICOLAS DIEU – 2350m (a1 7/16m) – TURF – Condition Race – Flat – EUR € 17.000
1. KALIFE ALAPLACE – Can do better than recent form suggests and is a must for the quartet
and most others bets. Include
2. WINELATO LAUJAC – Much better effort last month when 3rd over 2300m butmore required
for the win. Include in larger quartets
3. WALDSTEIN – Will need to improve on two runs thus far and prefer others for the win. Happy
to wait for improvement
4. MEHRDAD – Will need to build on debut effort and can. Rather wait for some improvement
before including in any bets
5. DALIAPUR – Has finished fifth in his last four races and can build on those efforts. Strong
place chance
6. STARKEY – Made an attractive debut at Fontainebleau last month over 2200m finishing fourth.
Plenty of scope to build on that. Big runner
7. MAGIC MOMENT – Has not shone in two races thus far and would be a surprise winner.
Ignore
8. FRENCH MARTINI – Strong place form in all four of her races and should get it all right soon.
Outstanding each way chance
9. DSCHINGIS WIND – Caught the eye when 3rd on debut at Nancy over 2500m but finished 5th
after that at Clairefontaine. Expect improvement on that effort
10. TILDA ROMANA – Has been racing out of the Country recently and been running fairly well.
Should be in the firing line. Chance
11. KARMINA BELLA – Finished 4th at Nancy over 2000m last time and can get a lot closer now.
Solid place chance
12. SILVER BEAUTY – A progressive filly that finished 3rd over 2100m at Strasbourg at the
second time of asking. The one to fear the most
13. KALEOBAYANE – Taking a long time to get it all right, place chance at best and others
should be too strong for the win position
14. BALLING DE JUILLEY – Will need to build on debut 6th at Lyon La Soie over 2150m, and
can. Could be the outside place value
15. SOUND OF SIXTIES – A son of Manduro that might need the racing experience before
threatening. Watch the betting market
16. LOVEBIRD – She is a daughter of Adlerflug out of a Alexandros mare that more than likely
will need the experience. Happy to ignore
Summary : SILVER BEAUTY (12) is lightly raced, progressive and should improve again. If that
is the case, she will be hard to oppose. FRENCH MARTINI (8) has placed in all four of her runs to
date and should go close to getting it right. STARKEY (6) caught the eye on debut and with
natural improvement, will be a serious contender for top honours and KALIFE ALAPLACE (1) can
do better than his recent efforts and is worth including in the quartet.
SELECTIONS
SILVER BEAUTY (12) – FRENCH MARTINI (8) – STARKEY (6) – KALIFE ALAPLACE (1)

1. JOLIENENE – Has been on the decline for some time and would be a surprise winner. Far
prefer others
2. ANGEL PARK – She is never too far off the action and can go much closer than recent 6th
over 2000m. Strong each way chance
3. TARCENAY – Ignore last run, judge him on penultimate 2nd at Lyon Parilly over 2400m earlier
this month. Big chance
4. HARD TALK – Will need to find a few lengths for the win, but has an undeniable strong place
chance. Respect and include
5. AS DE JUILLEY – Has solid, cracking good and encouraging form and rates a hard horse to
oppose. Win
6. ATREUS – Has some fair earlier form but last run was very bad. Hard to fancy and can be
passed by
7. TRIPTAJIKA – Finished 4th at penultimate run over 2000m at Vichy and is worth including in
most bets like the quartet
8. LEANDER – Has yet to secure the maiden victory but has caught the eye in some races. More
of a place chance than a winning one
9. MAKENZO – A tad more needed for the win but can progress on recent fifth over 1900m at
Deauville. Outside place chance
10. MARIE D’ARGONNE – Expect her to build on recent sixth over 2400m at Lyon Parilly. A must
for the quartet
11. DORALICE – Last two runs have been fair enough to possibly respect for the back end of the
quartet. An outsider with a small chance
12. MY BUDDY – Is a tad off form and therefore hard to fancy. Rather wait for improvement on
current form before including in any bets
13. FULLSTRIP – Is very lowly rated and taking time to secure maiden win. Is hard to fancy
against these and would be a surprise winner
Summary : AS DE JUILLEY (5) is a 3 time winner that is in tremendous form. He finds himself at
the top of the selection list. ANGEL PARK (2) is never too far off the action and warrants serious
respect. TARCENAY (3) is a tad erratic of late but has won a lot of races before and on very best
form, can never be ignored. Expect a bold effort. HARD TALK (4) can do better than he has been
recently and might represent some place value and help boost the payouts if featuring.

ignore
12. FUTURE – Taking a long time to win the maiden and last run a huge worry. Outside place
chance at very best but prefer others

and far prefer others
Summary : JAZZMEN (1) stays all day, is in mustard form and could be a very hard horse to peg
back. He is selected with some degree of confidence and could be a banker. MOONWALK STEP
(4) is a highly rated nine time winner that won easily last time. He can follow up. REVENTADOR
(2) is holding form, also won nicely last time and is one for the shortlist. MOONFLIGHT (3) is
lightly raced and has the form to be in the shake-up.
SELECTIONS

4. INSTANT CRUSH – Has not shown much in two starts. Sixth on the PSF last time out but is
capable of vast improvement dropped to a claimer

dropped to a claimer she can bounce back to score. RECONNECT (5) did not show her best side
when well beaten in a handicap last time out. She has won a claimer so is clearly not out of it.
ALPHABIA (1) seems better than her recent fifth-place finish and should do a lot better this time.
INSTANT CRUSH (4) is capable of improvement trying this division.

1. BASTIANO – Disappointing last run when seventh in Spain but did win a claimer at Deauville in
August. Consider
2. ROGUE STAR – Has yet to win a race and was only seventh on French debut. Capable of
improvement but others are preferred
3. MUGUETAJARRA – A winner of three races in Spain this year but was only modest in last two
runs and more is needed to win this race
4. HURRICANE – Won twice at this course last year. Consistent of late and he can bounce back
to winning form dropping to a claimer
5. ETATIQUE – Showed some improvement when sixth last time out. Won a handicap in March

6. GIFT OF THE G – Disappointing last run when eight in a claimer on the PSF. Won a couple of
claimers last year and is not out of it
7. PACO – In good form of late and did win twice earlier this year. Struggled in his last claimer but
is clearly better than that run would suggest. Go close
8. DIVA DU DANCING – In good form this year winning three times but has only been fair in
claimers of late. Can contest the finish
Summary : HURRICANE (4) has been good without winning of late but dropped to a claimer
should prove the right one. He did win twice at this course last year. DIVA DU DANCING (8) has
only been fair in claimers of late but does have a winning chance. PACO (7) is in good form and
should be right there at the finish. BASTIANO (1) won a claimer earlier this year in France and is

1. QATAR RIVER – Usually gives of his best and has won twice this year. Fair recent form at this
course and could play a minor role
2. HOMO DEUS – Returned to his very best when winning a handicap last time out over this
distance. Carries a 4kg penalty for that win but has also won over this track and trip. Big chance

has tended to struggle in handicaps. Might place
4. LOVELY DIAMOND – All three wins this year were in Spain. Well beaten in a handicap last
time out and others are preferred
5. LAOS – Unreliable of late and has been well beaten in last two handicaps. Capable of doing
better but others are preferred

was on the PSF. Might place
7. LIGHTED GLORY – Showed some improvement when sixth last time out but she has been
unreliable since winning in March. Others are preferred

this year. Might place
12. ORION ROCK – Won on debut which was over a similar distance. Consistent since then and
was not disgraced when fourth on handicap debut. Can do even better this time
13. YQUELON – Clearly likes this course having won twice here but this is a tougher task this
time. Might place

some fair form since winning on debut and is not out of it
Summary : A competitive handicap. HOMO DEUS (2) won well last time out over this distance
but will need to defy a penalty. ORION ROCK (12) has scope for vast improvement having only
had the one run in a handicap. HOLLYWOOD AFRICANS (10) is improving and could be better
than a recent 2.50kg penalty. TIME OF POWER (16) seems better than the last run and can
contest the finish.
