Balin hat-trick bound in KL on Saturday.
Balin has hit the ground running in Malaysia.

New Zealand-bred galloper BALIN appears to be on track for a winning hat-trick in the 1100m Class 5 contest at Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.

Unbeaten in two starts in Malaysia, BALIN has proven to be a valuable acquisition for the in-form Simon Dunderdale stable since his local debut on October 22. The seven-year-old has been the favourite in both winning performances, the most recent occurring over Saturday’s track and trip, where he positioned himself on speed before securing a victory by 1.25 lengths three weeks ago.

Prior to coming to Kuala Lumpur, BALIN had two wins from 39 starts in Singapore under the name Healthy Star and has truly found his niche in this new environment. The gelding appears ideally placed to secure another Class 5 race victory this weekend.

Elsewhere, in-form six-year-old OLYMPIA will have the opportunity to extend his winning streak to four when he competes in the 1200m Class 4 race.

OLYMPIA has shown remarkable progress, securing three victories out of four starts in the country, including a recent winning three-peat.

The former Kranji-based gelding has consistently led throughout all his local wins, with the most recent occurring over this track and distance on October 22. OLYMPIA is expected to utilize his early pace once more, positioning himself to maintain his unbeaten record at the Class 4 level.
