A tough card awaits punters on the Polytrack at Fairview on Tuesday where there are a number of competitive handicaps.
Hopefully we have found some value with Heartsease in Race 5 and Angelsea in Race 6.
Trainer Gavin Smith continues to be in very good form and his charge, the mare Heartsease, has not won in sometime and jumps from a poor draw in No 11 but she has run against much better opposition than she meets in this MR 68 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1900m.
Carrying top weight should not be a problem as she is course-and-distance suited and is capable of leading throughout if in the mood.
She indicated she is well with a good third behind Official Secret last time out and was runner-up to Wildest Dreams in October.
Trainer Montana Turner has certainly got the very best out of Angelsea and she has turned into a fair sprinter.
It could pay to ignore her last start when never in the hunt. They did not go as quickly as she needed because she runs her best races when held up off the pace. They will go a lot quicker in this MR 78 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1000m.
Angelsea has won twice in her last four starts and she has more wins in her.
Jockey Denis Schwarz is on both Heartsease and Angelsea so a long-priced double for him could be on the card.
Angelsea is also drawn badly in but that will not be much of an issue as she drops out early.
To build up a kitty to pay for those two each-way strikes we will be looking to Reach Forthe Stars to win Race 3, an Open Maiden over 1600m.
This gelding has been unlucky not to win either of his last two starts and could be hard to beat in this field.
