Four-year-old mare MY BELLA MAE is well-positioned for a winning return in Saturday’s $125,000 Listed Scenic Blast Stakes over 1200m at Ascot, Australia.

Approaching close to a year since MY BELLA MAE last secured a victory, she now faces a more manageable task this week after competing at the highest level in the west this preparation. In her first outing late in October, she delivered a promising second-place finish in a race of this nature but found herself outclassed in subsequent Group 3 and Group 1 races.

Despite facing tough competition, MY BELLA MAE never finished far behind in those races. In her latest appearance, she finished a fast-closing 10th in the Group 3 Gold Rush over 1400m, trailing by only 3.32 lengths. With a more favourable barrier draw this week, her winning chances are expected to be enhanced.

Show me the Money at Randwick

Five-year-old gelding MANBEHINDTHEMONEY appears poised to deliver a strong performance third-up in Saturday’s $160,000 Benchmark 88 Handicap over 2000m at Randwick, Australia.

The UK import MANBEHINDTHEMONEY is seeking his third victory in Australia and showcases several promising factors heading into the 2000m event. After resuming from a five-month break in early December, he finished in a moderate eighth place, clearly needing the run. However, he demonstrated improvement in his second-up run over 1820m, securing a third-place finish.

Having won a trial impressively since then and with an increase in distance to 2000m at a track and distance where he boasts one win from one attempt, MANBEHINDTHEMONEY is one to keep an eye on come Saturday
