Poursomesugaronme is a sweet bet

Trainer Dennis Bosch runs POURSOMESUGARONME in Race 8 – the Hollywoodbets BRIGHT FUTURE FM 64 HANDICAP at Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack on Tuesday 30 January 2024.

Future Saint could prove to be the best bet on the card at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Tuesday. Kom Naidoo has been quiet of late as he gets his life back together after a stroke but Future Spirit can get him back on track as the gelding has run two smart races on the poly. He meets a modest field here and is the horse to beat. Noble Warrior is lightly raced and should enjoy the step up in trip and looks the most likely danger along with Teriyaki who has been improving with each outing and takes a jump in trip. First time blinkers and he should strip a fit horse.

In the second Electric Storm has shown consistent form in soft going at recent outings. The switch to the poly could suit and he rates a strong chance. Doug Campbell’s runner is a long-time battler but is seldom far back and has a strong chance in this line-up. The year older Mayor Of Merrivale has been consistent over shorter and the stable is showing signs of form.

The third is the first of a number of tough handicaps. Master Fuego made a smart return from a break and also his poly debut. He should much prefer this trip and could be the right horse but Flag Man has shown up well in three starts in the soft and now switches to the poly. He has a high rating but still has a handy galloping weight and could have the measure of Master Fuego. Red William has some useful Highveld form and can do better than his last effort. He has been rested but on his best form he should make a big impression. Laudato is lightly raced but both of his wins have come on the poly. He stays the trip and has a light weight.

The combination of jockey Muzi Yeni and Paul Lafferty have been in good form of late and they can add another winner with Manic Monday. She has been struggling a little to get her second win behind her but she has the best of the draw and stays well. The switch to poly could be what she is looking for. Jollification goes well on the poly and stays the trip. She was narrowly beaten last run but has not been out since November last year. Blazing Astute gets 4kg claimer Trent Mayhew aboard and has gone close at her last two on the poly. The form of her last race has been franked and she should make a bold bid. Shaken Not Stirred is sound and as game as they come. She is never far back and with some luck in running can pull this off.

Paul Gadsby’s runner has strong form and goes well over course and distance. She has a big weight but has a strong chance again. Biggest threat could be Flying The Star who is back over her best trip and if Rachel Venniker can make the weight the mare will be a big runner. Averni Princess has been taking on stronger since her maiden win. She switches to the poly but goes well over the trip and should make a bold bid. Magicalee is way better than her recent form would suggest. Over her bast course and distance she could be the surprise package.

The sixth is another wide open handicap. Rafiki has been consistent, goes well on the poly and the trip suits. The stable is in form which is an added plus. One Irish Rover enjoyed the switch back to the poly last run. He has dropped in the handicap and should make a bold bid. The grey Brass Bell is always game. He loves this trip and has a money chance again. Giambattista is never far off and Richard Fourie gets the leg up. He has a handy galloping weight and must have a strong chance. Crested Eagle is way better than his recent form would suggest and he could upset.

The seventh is a modest handicap but Spring Kiss has been taking on much stronger at recent outings and not far behind. The drop in class should see her go close. Ingakara has been much improved on the poly and knocking at the door. She meets little of note here and rates the horse to beat. Angelic Fort is never far back another although struggling for her second win she has a chance here. Off her lower mark.

The last is a weak handicap but Poursomesugaronme has been struggling for some time now but took on much stronger last run and not far back. She takes a further two-point drop in the handicap and with Rachel Venniker’s 1.5kg allowance she can finally win again. Birdwatcher is always dangerous. She is over her best course and distance with Richard Fourie up so she should make an impression in a weak field. English Primrose is back from a lengthy break but has taken to the poly and can finish in the money.
