Jockey-turned-trainer Mogana Selvan a/l S Ramiah (NM Selvan) enjoyed his most successful meeting yet, winning half of the eight races at Selangor on Sunday.
Selvan made a promising start to his training career in his first season last year, saddling 26 winners to finish 11th in the trainer’s table and momentum has continued into the new season, with Selvan currently ranking fourth with seven wins.
With stable apprentice Azizi Awang at the helm, and also enduring a fine day in the saddle, Selvan won the opening race with BARBARIAN, and the pair went on to secure victories with CAVALLA COURT and ARTHUR PEGASUS.
BARBARIAN prevailed by a neck to claim his fifth win in the country after a winless campaign in Singapore, while CAVALLA COURT was an all-the-way winner, securing his fourth win in Malaysia and fifth overall.
ARTHUR PEGASUS also lead from pillar to post, marking his ninth win in the MRA circuit.
Selvan saddled his fourth winner of the afternoon when RS DIAGO (ridden by Ruzaini Supien) recorded his fourth win in the Class 5 – 1400m handicap.
“I have been working hard and I am glad that I was given the chance by my trainer,” said Azizi. It was his first ever treble. “I am also happy that my trainer managed to win four races today.”
