SUN SPECTACULAR will be making her ninth attempt this week, and she has given indications that she is bursting to pick up her first career win if her recent starts are anything to go by.
The Master Of My Fate filly proved to be a disappointment in the Western Cape, but a slow start on that occasion saw her mapping well back in the run before she made late headway to check in an eye-catching fifth after being positioned eleventh in the early stages.
With solid enough form on the board to win a race of this nature, it comes as no surprise to see top jockey Richard Fourie in the saddle for the first time. Another factor that could suggest she is in for a career-best performance is the fact that she is first-up for a new trainer, Kelly Mitchley.
