Highly-promising ANTIPODEAN showcased his dominance by outclassing his Class 3 competitors over 1275m at Sungai Besi’s No. 2 track, arguably delivering his most impressive performance yet and extending his unbeaten streak to four starts since his debut just over two months ago.
Under the skilled guidance of jockey Bernardo Pinheiro, ANTIPODEAN, who won his previous three starts over 1100m, positioned himself neatly in third place behind the early pace set by TORNADO PEGASUS, with ANSU close behind in second.
As the race unfolded, ANSU took the lead halfway through, with TORNADO PEGASUS and ANTIPODEAN hot on his heels. ANTIPODEAN made his move alongside ANSU at the 200m mark, surging ahead soon after and widening the gap in the final 100m to secure a decisive victory by five and a quarter lengths, with ANSU holding on for second place.
“Impressive win by ANTIPODEAN who had his first race longer than 1100m today and a step up to Class 3,” said Dunderdale.
“He showed improvement with each race and today was no different,” said Pinheiro who also won on the gelding just two weeks ago.
“It was his first time over a bit of distance and we were a bit worried. It was raining but he still showed his class.
“He just sit handy and when I asked him (for an effort) in the home straight he ran on well. He has a bright future.”
